You should start off with a band with a really rich history. Or, focus on one person like Billy from Saetia and Hot Cross. That, or Henry Rollin, who is mad popular now.
oic. So is Googling good enough to find enough information?

chips88 02-15-2005 01:07 AM
Ya but make sure the source ain't jenky. If you have questions on certain bands don't be shy; ask questions.
Cool cool, now I guess I get to just pick a band....tough choice :smoke:

chips88 02-15-2005 01:34 AM

I am being attacked by a horsefly while trying to finish an english assignment. How gay, I think God hates me.
Indie/Hardcore/Post-Hardcore

Love Lost But Not Forgotten and Crestfallen are incredible. Also, The VSS has kind of an emo feel at points.
Have you even heard these bands??

LLBNF - The ultimate screamo band.

Crestfallen - Metalcore or something, right?

The VSS - Post-punk, experimental, avant-garde.

And Clikatat Ikatowi and Antioch Arrow are awesome. Calling them bad bands would be stupid. They're seriously so creative. Maybe too arty for you?

Not exactly emo, but cool none the less.

I fail to see where he classified LLBNF, Crestfallen, or The VSS. All he was saying was that they were good.

DeathHawk 02-15-2005 04:28 PM

The VSS is one of my favorite bands.

Sonny Kay is a cool guy.

Exactly. Torn, how about you stop crusing around for posts you can make fun of and read the posts that have been made. For example, the post before where YDLoad asked me what genre The Fall Of Troy are. Idiot.

Times Ten 02-15-2005 05:51 PM

Well... my favorite screamo bands are
A Day in Black and White
Circle Takes The Square
Hot Cross
Kaospilot
Love Like Electrocution
Takaru (just broke up as of late... They will go down in screamo history like Saetia and Neil Perry)
Textbook Traitors

cbmartinez 02-16-2005 05:09 PM

Bump.

BridgeToSolace 02-16-2005 05:27 PM

If you've got nothing to say, then don't bump, lozer.

chips88 02-16-2005 05:30 PM

Circle Takes the Square was in AP :upset:

man, kids that buy that magazine should never listen to music like that, it's degrading and annoying.

Huh?

What don't you understand? CTTS shouldn't be in AP

Why the fuck not?
If you've got nothing to say, then don't bump, lozer.
Yeah, we should all just post in the Discussion Thread in Pop-Punk, not threads that spawn useful discussion

CTTS was bound to make they're way into AP. They're getting more popular considering their touring with FBTMOF and on Robotic Empire. The shame is, they're being classified as a hardcore/metalcore band when they could be educating kids about emo.

chips88 02-16-2005 05:46 PM
Why the fuck not?
Cause then all these kids wearing gay My Chemical Romance or TBS shirts, who don't know jack about quality music, or how to appreciate it, you know the kids I'm talking about, will be like, omgz, curcle taiks teh squar is the sh1t yo!!! and then I'll start seeing kids with their shirts or cd's, and I will break down into tears right in the middle of the school/mall.

cbmartinez 02-16-2005 05:48 PM

Just because they're in AP, doesn't mean they'll get popular. I think The Secret was in AP and there's no way kids who like TBS would like CTTS.

BridgeToSolace 02-16-2005 05:53 PM
Why the fuck not?
Because he enjoys the feeling of superiority he gets from listening to a band that other people don't know about.

If other people know about them, he wont feel as special.

I'm glad CTTS was in AP. Knowing a screamo band is still better than not, even if you don't know that they are actually screamo.

Yeah, The Secret was in AP. And so was Cattle Decapitation.

Well said. I don't even like CTTS.

I couldn't care less if this happens. Even if I did like CTTS.

cbmartinez 02-16-2005 06:00 PM

There was a one paragraph review of As The Roots Undo is Rolling Stone also.

What'd it say :amaze:

cbmartinez 02-16-2005 06:06 PM

They have a pic, it's funny. It's like at the very bottom of the page all small.

You say that like, every day. :p

I'm still waiting to send you that album...

cbmartinez 02-16-2005 06:17 PM

Hahaha, I'll be on soon. Usurp Synpase is great too. Listening to some Angel Hair at the moment, it's good.

Happymeal 02-16-2005 09:52 PM

Speaking of Trophy Scars, I just listened to Darts to the Sea in its entirety and I like it very much.

chips88 02-16-2005 09:55 PM
Circle Takes the Square was in last March's AP. That's like two months after I got As the Roots Undo. AP is a good magazine. For every crappy pop punk band they focus on, they write amazing features or reviews about bands like Psyopus, Trophy Scars, or whatever death metal that Burgess guy is listening to.
That's true. I actually learn about a lot of good bands from AP and Revolver, it's just for every cool kid that learns about an awesome band, some loser learns about them to and tries to act cool or something. I don't know, maybe I'm just being a prick. It's not that I don't like the magazine, it's just, idk. whatever, I've lost myself now.
