What's some exceptional goregrind besides Carcass, General Surgery, and Impaled?
Cock And Ball Torture
Carbonizer
Exhumed

publicastration 04-07-2009 09:26 PM

no to **** and Ball Torture

publicastration 04-07-2009 09:27 PM
why
I thought Repulsion were considered one of the early goregrind acts.

RetiredAt21 04-07-2009 10:24 PM

Repulsion don't sound like a goregrind band at all.

Cock And Ball Torture rules, gtfo.

Angmar 04-07-2009 10:38 PM

Goregrind doesn't have to have a specific sound, isn't it more about the themes?

RetiredAt21 04-07-2009 10:40 PM

No, it's definitely all about pitchshifted vocals.

publicastration 04-08-2009 08:11 AM

Then why is carcass goregrind

Angmar 04-08-2009 06:50 PM

Because!

Xplisit 04-08-2009 08:56 PM

So is Aborted overrated or ..

The Feeding 04-08-2009 09:09 PM

the only Aborted albums i like are the first 2, IMO the rest are crap

Goremageddeon & The Archaic Abbatoir

Angmar 04-08-2009 09:49 PM

Aborted are kinda lame.

SKUDstorm 04-11-2009 01:27 PM

looking for some good jazz-fusion. doesnt have to be metal. just good.

Ventriloquist 04-11-2009 02:06 PM

I don't know how involved you are with fusion bands but for starters you should check Return to Forever (Romantic Warrior would be good for a starter album), anything by Weather Report.

If you are familiar with the genre, you might like CAB. It's a project Tony McAlpine and Dennis Chambers are involved in. I have one of their CDs. Also check out Quartet Muartet - Dokuz Parca. I can recommend you more if you like these bands. They are no where near metal though. I wasn't sure if you asked metal/jazz bands or fusion bands. Anyway discard this if you asked for metal/jazz.

SKUDstorm 04-11-2009 02:48 PM

im not looking for anything metal really, i just want to delve more into jazz music. thanks though, ill check these out

Deth 04-11-2009 02:51 PM

Mahavishu Orchestra too

Si1v3RfaNg 04-11-2009 03:01 PM

The Clash is jazzy on London Calling, Cynic's Focus and anything Atheist is jazzy as hell.

Deth 04-11-2009 03:05 PM

Insect Warfare - World Extermination is a good first one

SKUDstorm 04-11-2009 03:08 PM
...
point?

pate 04-11-2009 03:22 PM

That was in reference to silverfang's mentions of Cynic and Atheist.

Si1v3RfaNg 04-11-2009 03:23 PM

So I didn't read his post about him not wanting metal sorry. But anyways yeah listened to Insect Warfare, some pretty intense music, I like.

SKUDstorm 04-11-2009 03:32 PM

Those are really jazzy fusion bands. Weather Report might be a bit hard to listen to first.

Get Misery Index by Assuck, that was the one that got me hooked.

Mendigo 04-15-2009 05:38 AM
The Clash is jazzy on London Calling
wot? they have one jazzy song with a jazzy song title, but where are they fusion?
anyway, great jazz fusion = early Mahavishnu Orchestra, and '69-'79(?) Miles Davis, and first four Soft Machine albums. that's pretty much all I have though...

Tyler 04-15-2009 12:15 PM

^^^ al dimeola - elegant gypsy ^^^

The Feeding 04-15-2009 12:17 PM

pig destroyer ftw

RetiredAt21 04-15-2009 12:19 PM

Yeah, I think Terrifyer would be a good grind album to start with.

The Feeding 04-15-2009 12:19 PM

SOOO good, my fave grind band

Trintar_VIII 04-15-2009 02:50 PM

Another good jazz fusion band to check out is the Mats/Morgan Band.

Tyler 04-15-2009 04:17 PM

I'm assuming you want more 'traditional' sounding stuff:

Autopsy - Severed Survival
Autumn Leaves - Embraced By The Absolute
Banished From Inferno - Banished From Inferno
Blood Rainbow - Lethal Message
Carcass - Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious
The Chasm - Conjuration of the Spectral Empire
Defaced Creation - Serenity In Chaos
Demigod - Slumber Of Sullen Eyes
Desultory - Into Eternity
Entombed - Left Hand Path
Immolation - Close To A World Below
Incantation - Onward to Golgotha
Intestine Baalism - Ultimate Instinct
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
Obituary - Cause Of Death
Pestilence - Consuming Impulse
Unleashed - Where No Life Dwells

Hopefully you've heard most of these. If not, there you go.
