Converge, Poison The Well, Every Time I Die, and even though not metalcore, Protest The Hero.
How the hell can a low-end be thin? Thin is usually trebly, and trebly =/= low end :S
from the one track i've heard Poison the well doesn't sound too great

That's how the bass sounds. It's really high. Have you ever listened to the new MS?
from the one track i've heard Poison the well doesn't sound too great
What song did you hear? |
Anything Poison The Well did before Tear From The Red is pretty lame. Everything from that album forward is great though. The demo they did last year with some songs from Versions and some unreleased stuff is probably their best recording.
Also, I was just listening to Killswitch Engage's self titled album, I forgot how good Jesse Leach is. |
I never heard him. Is he better than Howard?
In my opinion, hell yeah. If you haven't heard Alive Or Just Breathing or Killswitch Engage, I highly suggest you should.
Also, listen to the song Take This Oath on The End Of Heartache, Jesse does the high screams in the background when Howard screams in the verses, sings the chorus, and does the screaming during that, "break free," part at the end. |
Ok.. I listened to Take this Oath, but didnt know Jesse was on it. I'll listen to both Jesse's album.
Jesse's voice is better than Howard's, imo, but Howard's technique is far superior, so it's really a toss up, thus both have huge followings.
Jesse's lyrics are sweet in a generic Christian sense though. |
I love Howard's voice. I like the way he can changes to clean voice to harsh voice. Are songs similar or very different?
Alive Or Just Breathing has a lot of clean parts, Killswitch Engage has a few.
Ok, I like both so that's not a problem :p but like, btw Howard and Jesse. Is it like samething with different voice or is it totaly different from The End of Heartache and As daylights dies?
Alot different. I went through and just listened to every one of their albums over in a row, and it is like night and day with Howard and Jesse, but It's hard to say who's superior.
Howard is wayyyyyy better.
I don't know about way, but one could say he has the edge and I would not argue, because it's so close.
Well, I think Im gonna make my own opinion cause one say Jesse is better, the other Howard.
Howard is wayyyyyy better.
We disagree?! NO! Josh, seriously.... Howard's black. |
Yeah well at least he got his voice right.
:p |
Well, Jesse knows how to sing properly now. Too bad Seemless is only good to listen to every now and then. :(
Regardless, you have to admit Jesse's voice still sounded fantastic when he was in KSE. I just love how his hardcore style vocals sound like Mike Muir. |
Is Jesse with another band now?
yeah
Seemless. A hard rock band |
never really liked killswitch engage that much.
Architects are decent, their new album leaked so I might check it out.
June the 9th in this country. I might review it actually. But BFMV aren't that bad seriously. They're riffs are well done and the drums are ok. Fair enough the lyrics are appalling but still. And whats that I see someone with a BMTH aviator. Thought everyone apart from me despised them on this forum. |
who's bmth?
I think both BFMV and BMTH are both awful.
Listen to Rorshchach. |
90's metalcore rules
yo retired upload some Rorschach, i only have like 2 songs from them |
Maybe later. I still feel lazy from waking up.
who the hell's BMTH.

Bring Me The Horizon. *barf* |
They're not amazing and never will be granted. And the majority of their fans are young or pre-teen posers but they write some good riffs and the solo's ain't bad.
Good riffs? What riffs? Surely you're referring to their over-usage of the breakdown.
Yup, breakdowns killed their album.
I wouldn't say just the breakdowns. Everything about them screams "generic as fuck and we wouldn't be around if metalcore wasn't hip right now."
I have to agree, Bring Me The Horizon do have some pretty killer riffs. The "every first born dying now" part in Pray For Plagues is cool, and the one near the end of Off The Heezay is pretty sweet. Black And Blue has a few cool ones too. Overall, they are awful, terrible breakdowns, most of the songs are just horrible, but they do bust out a good riff here and there.
Favs:
Unearth Between the Buried and Me Converge And the Hero Fails All Shall Perish Burning Skies Lamb of God (not really metalcore) Bring Me The Horizon is awful, sorry. |
Yeah there breakdowns are terrible.
I'm not sure if they're Metalcore but Heaven Shall Burn has some good stuff
My favs are (in no particular order): - All That Remains - The Human Abstract - Killswitch Engage - The End - Becoming The Archetype (They changed their style in their new album a little) - Everytime I Die (They were amazing in a concert I went) I don't consider BTBAM and LoG metalcore, but theyre awesome |
I never hated metalcore, its not my favorite genre but its deffinetely up there.
There aren't really that many good metalcore bands.
I'm not a at all a metalcore fan..It's probably because I have no idea what metalcore is. What qualifications are needed?
