Most peoples soulseek name is in the soulseek thread.

Well I mean people look at it, and see who people are listening to alot. THen you could go on soulseek and get their music.

I was keen on it ages ago, when I made the original thread. Then I realised everyone who's keen doesn't have the means to record stuff, and also we don't have any drummers.

That kid with horrible grammar/spelling, 1071z or whatever was going to drum last time. Then Laura left and nothing happened. I could find someone to play rhythm or maybe play myself if needed, and I can sing as well maybe.. Laura was going to play lead I think.. all that's really left is a bassist.

Well, funny you say that, because bass is pretty much the only thing I can't do at the moment. The other stuff you mentioned is within my ability and means, but as I have no bass, it's not do-able.

I'm a *decent* bassist and can play most pop/punk songs. As long as you don't delve into other genres I would be able to handle it. However I have no idea how to record or even own any of the recording equipment. How do you record your playing anyway? what do you need?

The original 'band' thread. I'm quite surprised to see how many people were keen back then... Reading through that, it just came down to not having enough people being keen enough to actually record something, and also not having enough drummers.

In an entirely basic sense, you need:


1x Bass
1x Cable
1x cable adaptor (to make it fit your computer)
1x computer
1x recording software


And that's it. It's all I use for guitar, anyway.

Sorry if we're straying a little off topic here, but Where do they sell cabel adapters? Music Stores, or could I find one, at say Best Buy or electronic stores?

I got mine from Dixons. Any decent electronic store should have them. It's just a hole the size of a normal guitar lead jack at one end, and a jack at the other end to fit a smaller hole.

I wish I had recording software. Actually, that's next on my "to buy" list. Which means I'll have it at christmas/my birthday :p.
