have you sent a demo to them?
|
I've only been able to fiddle with the idea of a band until i met a few guitarists at my local school jazz band, and we're getting together reguarly. We do a variety of stuff. Rock, Jazz, Latin, whatever we feel like doing while we hang out. We're currently working on a Sublime-like piece that we've been making. We're currently looking for a bassist. I don't know our name yet, but i was thinking a few names...
How does "The Imflamed, Infected Nipples" sound? I actually kind of like it. It has it's own unique ring to it. |

No, I'm too modest. Besides, I'm taking a break from recording and just focusing on writing/performing. I don't wanna start making albums until I know what the hell I'm doing, and until I'm %100 comfortable with it. The current problem is, 70% of my songs are like "Missouri Nights", except better, in that they're very classic-sounding, Guthrie/Cash Dust Bowl folk songs, and the other 30% are angry, anarcho-cowboy folk-punk stuff, and I don't know if I should try to find a balance or just give up the political schtick and focus on the straight-up stuff. |
well they are good

I'm in a band.
Rusinko (named after a former teacher who was fired from our school for having an affair with a 16 year old student. First teaching job, had a fiancee, whole world ahead of him, and she wasn't that good looking either.) 3 piece band, I do bass and we have a drummer and vocalist/guitarist. We blend old school hardcore ala Minor THreat and Bad Brains with Ska and Reggae. Its pretty righteous. |
i'm in a band called En Medias Res. two man band, with keyboard drums. check us out. http://www.myspace.com/enmediasres
I play guitar and my friend is a really good drummer. We have a bassist who would do well for the time being. I listen to all types of metal/hardcore and at this point what we play really depends on what kind of vocals we can find. If it were up to me I would like to play tech metal in the vein of Glass Casket and PsyOpus. Playing generic metalcore stuff with breakdowns everywhere is also fun but I want to stray from cliches. I want to do something original.
then don't play breakdowns, tech parts, or anything, for that matter. just have a drummer play endless gravity blasts. |
I play bass and my friend plays guitar. We live in a small town. We are the only people that don't listen to rap or pop.
So no. I'm not in a band.
You could pick up a drum machine, and become Ween Jr. :) Lateley with my band, we're coming up with a thrashcore version of the oompa loompa song. |
I am in a band called Las Cruces, which is actually just my singer-songwriter name with friends backing me on bass and percussion. We rule.
Who also, now, have an awesome logo. :naughty:  |
I'm in a band called Remedy, 3 piece, mostly rock/alternative.

You mean bad metalcore that rapes the bad aspects of swedish death metal. Atreyu is not hardcore in any sense and are terrible since they released the curse, hell even with snabk they were only mediocre. Throwdown I like but when you listen to them you can't take them seriously, personally I laugh when I listen to them. Both of those bands just suck but I hope your band is nothing like them. Oh and if you want to check out hardcore bands check out these: Champion Black Flag Earth Crisis Minor Threat Agnostic Front Carry On Go It Alone and Shai Hulud :thumb: |
Leaving for my 2nd band practice in about an hour. Thrash band with some songs leaning more towards metal and some crossover/hardcore.
We're doing our Judas Priest cover today. |
