It was definately a great show, and I think most of the people did appreciate AWS, but I think they just didn't know the music.
I'm guessing the people at the Pennywise show will know the music a lot better, so that show should be incredible. A Wilhelm Scream is one of my favorite bands at the moment. |
Ya they are really good your so lucky you get to see them twice!!!! I'm so pathetic I'm seeing two shows this year well three. Thats pathetic.
I wanted to go to the Senses Fail show in Chicago but my mom said no :upset: because it's a Monday night. |

I'm off to see Coheed and Cambria!
|
Alright so last night I saw mewithoutYou, Dredg, Blood Brothers, and Coheed and Cambria. They all were good I mean the others were alright they weren't very good but still okay.
mewithoutYou- Alright so these guys aren't one of the bands I like very much but they still were okay. There set was more funny than anything. They played January 1979 first,(I'm pretty sure that is the name of the song) and the lead singer was going crazy and like spinning around and he has a jacket on and it was comming off and the sleeve hit his mike stand and it was falling over and he grabbed it but the mike slipped out so he took the drummers ride cymbal mike and used that. Then the lead singer was like is there a guy named Dustin in here, and a kid goes "My dadd's name is Dustin" the lead singer said No one cares about your dad. So they found Dustin and he proposed to this girl and she said yes so that was cool. The lead singer was like she only said yes because there are like 1000 people watching she will dump you after the show. So it was pretty funny then a fat guy came out before their second to last song and like read this thing he was funny. Then the lead singer was playing a pot like just hittin it with a drum stick wow. Then he played the accordia. I just don't like these guys because the vocals aren't any good IMO he doesn't really sing he just kind of talks. It was good set though they had a lot of energetic songs not many people were into them and the band kind of looked mentally retarded on the stage but w/e. Dredg- Not many people were into them either and they had a guitar problem after the first song and it took like 10 minutes to fix and it was annoying but w.e. Every single time the drummer had like a hard snare hit he would raise his arm way up and then smash it down it was kind of fun to watch then he threw like 942592 drum sticks I just thought of him throwing one and then go to get another one and he didn't have any left but that didn't happen. Blood Brothers- These guys also had the fat guy do an intro for him it was something about animals and losing tongues it was dumb. I had listened to them like once before and I really didn't care for them much but they were still good. When they did sound checks the black guitarist was like woooaaa woooaaa he got some laughs. He was really cool. They had a ton of energy and it was an okay set even if I didn't enjoy the music very much. Coheed and Cambira- This was my first time seeing them and now that I have I am planning on seeing them every single chance I get. It just blew me away how awesome the show was. I was right up in the front row right on the fence right by the stage. This was small theatre and they packed so many people in there. They opened up with just like Keeping the Blade playing and then the band came out. Claudio had his double neck, they opened with Always and Never, then played Welcome Home, and Ten Speed right away it was awesome. I'm not exactly sure how they played em out, but they played Everything Evil last before the encore and they played Delirium Trigger. They played Three Evils Blood Red Summer, and A Favor House Atlantic. They also played Apollo I: The Writing Writer, Wake Up, and The Suffering. They came back out and played In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth:3 and The Willing Well IV: The Final Cut. Travis does this cool thing with the mike in The Final Cut. The show was awesome I had a great time I almost got a drum stick but I left like a split second before he threw them and the kid standing next to me got it. Claudio threw his bandana during the show but it was opposite where I was standing. The other kid who got a drum stick was barfing all over himself at the back of the pit after the show and I was like YAAA he was like YAAA. It was excellent! |
Sounds like an awesome show. I can't wait to see Coheed and Cambria, but it's still a month away.
In the meantime, I'm going to see Pennywise and A Wilhelm Scream in about an hour. |
Ahhh your second time seeing Wilhelm right in like a couple months haha let me know how that goes.
|
I'm sure it will be pretty fun.
Seeing them in November with Alexisonfire should be cool too. |
I saw the Fat tour on Friday night, and it was excellent. It was at a venue called Rhino's that had been renovated not too long ago. The place was really nice, but the sound was a little off. The guitar was way too loud, and you could just barely hear the vocals. We got there early and got good spots right on the side of the stage.
The Soviettes They opened up with a pretty energetic set. I haven't listened to the band that much, so I didn't know many of their songs. Their lead singer reminds me of a female Johnny Ramone. There wasn't a pit until the last song they played, "Paranoia Cha Cha!" or something like that. They put on a good show, and I'll definitely have to listen to them more. Smoke Or Fire They were amazing. I hadn't listened to them much, but I downloaded their CD afterwards and it's great. I think they were pretty close to being as good as AM!. There was so much energy. The guitar and bass player were jumping around the whole time and running up to each other. I got a shirt, a sticker, and some pins at their merch table. The Epoxies Possibly one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. The bassist had one of those old Fat Mike-esque basses with a skinny body and no tuning pegs. They all came out on stage and the keyboard player was making weird noises and stuff and the lead singer wasn't on stage yet and everyone was wondering where she was. She was standing right next to me and I said hi to her. Right when the song started she jumped on stage and was dancing around and stuff. I forget all the songs that they played, but it was a pretty good set. As the drummer was walking off stage, he chugged the rest of his water and handed me his bottle. And when they were cleaning up all the stuff, I snagged a piece of tape that was holding the keys in place. Against Me! They were insane. During the previous 3 sets, there was only a small area of pit, but pretty much everyone was going nuts during AM!. EVERYONE was singing along, and people were even running up on stage and grabbing the mic from the lead singer. He didn't really care, he just backed up and played guitar while people passed around the microphone. I was right up on the stage so I was pretty much bent over it the whole time because people kept getting pushed into me. It was so much fun though. I'd highly recommend this to anyone if it comes to your town. It was only $10 to get in, to boot. |

Really? I figured it'd be the same for all the shows.
|
I think mine was $10 as well, and it was incredible. The Soviettes and The Epoxies surprised me. I didn't expect them to be that good, but I really enjoyed them.
|
Mine's 13 :-\
|
That's not too bad.
|
No, for some reason I thought it was 19 but I just looked and it's 13.
|
I may be seeing No Use For A Name on November 1st... in Melbourne. And I'm seeing Green Day
|
Last night, I went to see Pennywise, H2O, Death By Stereo, and A Wilhelm Scream. I haven't been to a big club in a really long time, but it was really cool. It was the last night of the tour as well, and the bands all had a ton of energy.
A Wilhelm Scream I'm in love with this band, but apparently the rest of my town isn't. This is the second time I've seen them in two months, yet very few people were even at the show when they came on, and most of the people who were didn't reallly seem to know the music all too well. I'd was still an excellent show, however. These guys seem to have so much fun performing, and they are really incredible. The played basically the same set as the last time I saw them, but it was still great. Death By Stereo I don't listen to these guys all too often, but they still put a pretty awesome show. The crowd was incredibly into them, and they had a lot of energy. I knew a couple of their songs, and I enjoyed them more than I expected to. The only downside was that I was standing on the edge of the pit where a lot of kids were doing all sorts of spin kicks and hardcore dancing. I was pretty lucky not to get myself killed. :-/ H2O I didn't really know these guys at all, but they weren't bad. The crowd seemed to really like them, and their set was pretty good. During the middle of their set, A Wilhelm Scream hung a Boston Red Sox flag behind them to mess with them, as I'm guessing they must be from New York. This brought about a chant of "Let's Go Yankees!" (stupid Yankees fans). Then, after that whole ordeal was over, they played a couple more songs, one of which I knew; "Guilty By Association". It was really a surprisingly good set. I'll definately be checking out one of their albums in the near future. Pennywise I really only know their newer music, which they didn't play much of, but they were great. They mixed in quite a few political messages between songs, which seemed to reenergize the crowd quite well. I was in the pit for the whole set, and it got pretty crazy. Overall though, it was a great time, and well worth the $16. |
IM going seeing, Maximo Park, and Kaiser Chiefs. Oh yea.

Ooh Maximo Park, tell me how it goes. |
A Wilhelm Scream
Death By Stereo H2O Pennywise
Man, that would have been an awesome show. All of the bands are good enough that they could have been headlining. Most tours only have 1 or 2 really good bands, and the rest are new in the scene. What tour was this? |
I love H2O. I saw them last year. I almost got killed in the pit.
|
I'm going to see Thrice, Underoath, and The Bled on October 21st it should be sweet.

Brandon: Okay I get it
Brian you are the luckiest kid I know I wanted to go to that Hawthorne Heights Silverstein Bayside Aiden, show and the Matchbook Romance Armor For Sleep and the Alexisonfire those three tours were comming pretty close to me but not enough rides from people. |
Haha, I'm going to more shows than I realized.
It will probably cost me $300, but my parents pick up some of the shows, since I always have to buy a ticket for my dad as well. It would be more, but like I said, four of the shows are free, and they would have cost me about $90. |
