I believe power metal, But I heard somewhere that theyr were progressive black metal. I think thats wrong though.

If you had to ask me, I would say a cross between power and black metal with neo-classical influences. It's hard to put a single genre on this band.

Id say they're power metal with harsh vocals.
They have all the elements of power metal...yet the vocals are more of a black/death metal band.

My sister got me into Children of Bodom, they are her favourite band, and i thought, as she liked them i would let her be, and not listen to them myself, but she had a tape of them in the car, and we listened to it on the way to Yeovil, and i loved it to bits. That was the Hatebreeder album. And i decided to get Follow The Reaper.

in an inertview the band said they couldnt really be put in a category so they called theirselves punk rock from hell

Children of Bodom rock. Taste_My_Sythe got me into them a while ago and she gave me copys of all the CoB albums she had. The only album I'm missing is Hatebreeder.

No one sells the first two cds. Im sad.

That's funny, because that's one of the few albums I don't have. Out of the albums that I have, I think that Something Wild is the best.

yes they did, norther did too, thiers is more famous and the one veryone hears, personally I like it better, but CoB did it as well. the main difference is that norther did Europes keyboard line on keyboard while expanding the first and creating a second guitar line. Children of Bodom did the keyboard line on guitar, and did a more "laiho style" solo as well as adding a keyboard solo.

edit--> you can also tell the difference becqause of the vocal styles.

no they didnt...alexi even put it on his website that they never did a cover of it...sentenced and norther did

I am positive that CoB never covered it. Look up on limwire or something "Children of Bodom Interviews", and you should find one with them talking about covers. They said that it was mistakened, and they never covered it.

Dispatched covered the Final Countdown and it was labeled as Children Of Bodom.
Sentenced covered the Trooper and it was labeled as Children Of Bodom.
