I just got "turn on the bright lights" today, and it is indeed an excellent album. I dont think there was a song that i disliked on there. However for some reason on the first song i thought i was listining to coldplay for a moment.

pixiesfanyo 02-09-2005 05:53 AM

PDA is probably my favorite song by Joy Division.

/me made a joke

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-09-2005 10:24 PM

Yeah, I heard Interpol and Joy Division were basically the same, although I never listened to the latter.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-13-2005 09:45 PM

What's been up with MX these past 24 or so hours? Has it been messed up for everyone?

xKONRADx 02-14-2005 09:50 PM

i dont know but i cant see your avatars.

Nightvision 02-14-2005 09:57 PM

Whoa, everyone's avatar has gone all Picasso...

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-14-2005 10:23 PM

It'd be cool if we got an explanation of what happened to the forums soon.

Nightvision 02-14-2005 10:25 PM

yah, we did. It's in the announcement at the top of the page. :)

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-14-2005 10:26 PM

No APS, you're the only one who's had any problems.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-14-2005 10:27 PM

So my girlfriend is sending me I'm Wide Awake through the mail, maybe I'll do a little review for both the CD's after I get it. I don't know why she's mailing it though :P.

theredwonder 02-15-2005 02:20 AM

Maybe she doesn't want to see you

I'm thinking of starting a Lyric of the Moment thread, hmmMMmMmm. Decisions.

mshort813 02-15-2005 04:14 PM
Whoa, everyone's avatar has gone all Picasso...
I know, I love it.

theredwonder 02-18-2005 09:40 PM

Sup' community thread? Why you so quiet?

Let's discuss our favourite lyric of the moment. I would say right now mine has to be
Nobody knows it, but you've got a secret smile and you use it only for me
Simple, yet with the music highly effective and moving.

hotcod32 02-18-2005 09:53 PM

Hey! how is every one? anything intresitng happen while i was gone?

I might actaly try and post more often, as shocking as that is, i miss this place...

but my favrot lyrics of the moment...
Wait they don't love you like i love you
its so simple... and beautiful... and the fact its such a simple stament and yet, i think, it just captures somthing about what love can be in the fact it is very simple

Permanent Solution 02-18-2005 10:09 PM

Favorite lyric of the moment:
I will drink your cup of poison, nail me to your cross and break me. Bleed me, beat me, kill me. Take me now.
SubtleDagger 02-19-2005 03:10 AM

The music isn't shit anymore,
Your sexual vibe carries across the land.
Daydream sex, broken marriage fuck;
You cause this shit.

Between The Buried And Me's "Camilla Rhodes". Good times.

upthebracket 02-19-2005 11:32 AM

Latest favourite line -

"If you want to get the honey
then you don't go killing all the bees."

Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros - 'Jonny Appleseed'

Can't stop listening to Joe Strummer's 'solo' stuff at the moment. Jonny Appleseed was the first of his solo songs I heard. brilliant stuff.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-19-2005 07:00 PM

My favorite lyrics right now are:
No one ever plans to sleep out in the gutter,
Sometimes that’s just the most comfortable place.
and
Well I could have been a famous singer,
If I had someone else’s voice,
But failure’s always sounded better.
Lets **** it up boys, make some noise!
Both are from Bright Eyes - Road to Joy

clayman112388 02-20-2005 12:28 AM

Why are you all such Bright Eyes fanboys?

My favorite lyrics would be the chorus of Trigger by In Flames
From green to red our days pass by
Waiting for a sign to tell us why
Are we dancing all alone?
Collect some stars to shine for you
And start today there only are a few
The sign of times my friend
I love that so much, it's just so good.

lmao therewonder.

EDIT: Why the hell won't people return crits?

theredwonder 02-20-2005 08:28 PM

Because your crits aren't crits, they're passing comments. Try to go a little more indepth and perhaps people will bother to check out your song.

Eh, I just don't have much time to crit anymore, my mom is always yelling down my neck, I was fixing my registry and she told me to stop playing games, so ignorant, blah.

theredwonder 02-21-2005 06:31 AM

Parents can be like that. But i have to admit sometimes i forget that Mx is just an internet forum, not a way of life.

/confessions ++

sparkylp2002 02-21-2005 09:58 PM

This thread seems a bit dead lately, me try to put life in it.

So whats everyones favorite album at the moment.

Mine would proably be Radiohead-Kid A but it changes a lot so it will probaly be differnet tomarrow

P.s I finally got a new avatar and user title beeaaaaaatchs

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-21-2005 10:36 PM

Being a Bright Eyes fan boy (according to one member), my favorite album at the moment is Bright Eyes - Digital Ash

The Arcade Fire - Funeral Comes in second, and I'm Wide Awake It's Morning comes in third.

metaliq 02-21-2005 10:44 PM

I purchased 2 cd's on Saturday.

The Chariot - Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing; Nothing Is Dead, Nothing Is Bleeding

It took a few listens... but I like it. I like it a lot.

He Is Legend - I Am Hollywood

Darn good cd. I saw both of these guys at the same concert a few months back, along with Showbread, As Cities Burn, and Far-Less.

upthebracket 02-22-2005 06:22 AM

Well I just listened to Kid A a few nights ago for the first time an a good while, and it's better than I remembered... I always kinda ignored radiohead's post OK Comp albums for some reason.

So that's my album of the moment, will probably change to Amnesiac in the near future

theredwonder 02-22-2005 08:43 AM

Odds on Badly Drawn Boy - Hour of the Bewilderbeast are good.

mshort813 02-22-2005 04:40 PM

At The Drive In - Relationship of Command is currently my favorite cd. It used to be my favorite awhile ago, and I just started listening to it again. I got an Aquabats cd today, Fury of... That's also a great cd.

Anyone know how the new Armor for Sleep cd is?

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-22-2005 05:41 PM

So Poison Oak is the best Bright Eyes song ever (If Winter Ends maybe ties it). Discuss.

theredwonder 02-22-2005 07:14 PM

You're wrong. The best track on that album is "Lua".

Well, at the moment anyway.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-22-2005 07:15 PM

Nah, At The Bottom of Everything and Road to Joy come after Poison Oak, Lua is probably 4thish.

I listened to a few tracks off of the new cd, twas okay.
Nah, At The Bottom of Everything and Road to Joy come after Poison Oak, Lua is probably 4thish.
At the Bottom of Everything was the first track i heard from the album and i still love it. Road to Joy is a bit sucky and pretentious, definately not one of my favourites. "Old Soul Song" is another great track, the first three really do it for me.

Anyway it's 1.22am and i'm knackered, plus i only had 4 hours last night so it's beddy boes for reddy. Night all*

metaliq 02-22-2005 09:50 PM

I like Armor For Sleep.

I'll have to check out the new cd. Asian looking people sing well.
