thats sucks because thats the kind of music i like and i dont really know how to tune it good
Buy a tuner that's NOT automatic, that'll do it for you. I have a Korg CA-30 which is automatic, but they also do one called the GA30 whihc isnt, and its not that expensive...i think about £20 if i remember rightly. As for more begginer songs. RHCP - Mellowship Slinky in B Minor (i found it easy anyway and im still a n00b) RHCP - Californication (Again i found it easy) The Hives - Die, Alright! (awesome song, great build up before the chorus..JAM those B's!!!) 36 Crazyfists - Dislocate (pretty easy) I also put a bassline to Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz, which doesn't actually have a bass line in the album as i remember. If anyone wants to see that contact me, it's a pice of p1ss to play :D Then again it's only really one riff, then whatever variations you wanna throw in...i prefer free-form improv anyways :D |
nirvana - polly- too ****ing easy
|
what the ****? it doesnt let you ****ing swear?
|
the distillers - the hunger - easy and sounds sick
|

|
i meant do u know any songs that sound good for bass
|
anything sounds good if its played with feeling. you can hit one note and put a nice bend or vibrato on it and it sounds great. You need to narrow it down a little...do you want smoothe stuff, punky speed shredding, bouncy funk, give us something to work with dude :D
|
smoothe stuff or bouncy funk
|
Hold on by Good Charlotte is pretty darn easy.....

JGow92 Welcome to the wonderful world of bass man!! I've only been playing a few months, but i've devoted a LOT of time to info gathering and technique developing, which is something i would recommend to you. Don't just try to play songs, develop your techniques too :D Some more good learner songs: Jet - Are u Gonna b My Girl? (i was playing it earlier just for fun) Natasha Bedingfield - These Words (i know its a pop-crap song, but it has a good b-line) The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love (Was also playing this earlier) Cypress Hill - Lick a Shot (Sweet heavy hip-hop riff) |

If you want a song that both sounds great is hard to play trey hysteria by muse, the riff soundsa awesome, but even if you can play the riff, its physically a very exhauting to play
a couple of other muse songs worth learning are stockholm syndrome and butterflies and hurricanes. Not wise they are very easy (at one point in SS chris plays an open d about 64 times in a row) But they are very fast and very tiring to play. But if you can nail them it'll do wonders for your picking hand accuracy and stamina |
Sublime- Wrong Way
Sublime- Santeria RHCP- Californication RHCP- Otherside RHCP- By The Way RHCP- This is the Place RHCP- Righteous & the Wicked |
AC/DC - Back In Black - Very Easy
AC/DC - Highway to hell Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train - Very Easy - my first bass song Black Sabbath - Paranoia - Very Easy Metallica - Enter Sandman - Easy Green Day - Brain Stew - WAY TOO EASY Pink Floyd - Another Brick In the Wall - Easy Red Hot Chili Peppers - Come As You Are - Pretty Easy |
I'd say...start off with a song that kinda challenges you. If u can get over the initial difficulties then u know you're gonna be a good bassist, some people really arent suited to bass and this will show that. Dont Stick to one genre of music either explore with music even if u dont initially like it! Just totally Chill out when u play...so many bassists i know try and show me up when i play...(cause yeh, i am the only female bassist in our town) But they look so uptight its funny, dont go rigid and stiff let ur fingers go floppy...and follow the music. Relaxing is the best way to becoming a great bassist!
A Good song to Start on is; Lit-Miserable And any Offspring song-cause they are all sooooo easy! Bex :) |
Most Green Day song are pretty easy
Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water - Really Easy White Stripes - 7 Nation Army - Really Easy Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl? - Easy I learnt these 3 songs the first day I had my bass. The first song I actually learnt was Wild Thing by The Troggs..... easy and catchy |
if u h8 blink then i fink u need ot get ur hed checked out personally
Sorry dude, but you'll find a lot of people who play bass dont like blink, myself included. It's just that hoppus is so poor. I mean as a fundemental bassist he serves his function perfectly, but he has no creative talent and no personal flair. Sorry, it's just the way it is bud.... ....as for something easy to play - have a shot at "The O'Jays - For the Love Of Money" it goes like this: G --------------------------------------------------------- D -------x11-11--x9--x9--x9x--x9--x9x--x9x--x9x--9x--8-9-11 A --------------------------------------------------------- E --9--9--------------------------------------------------- thats it, just make up your own variations as you see fit. It's great fun to play and it gives you a use for your phaser (if you have one), although it still sounds good without. |

black sabbath - iron man - easy metallica - pulling teeth - (0:00-0:45) easy it becomes gradually harder as the song progresses its not actually impossible. Rage against the machine - bulls on parade - easy Rage against the machine - bombtrack - easy (intro - moderate) rage against the machine - wake up thats pretty much what i can think of right now.... |
