i know where ur coming from

Paranoidd 08-16-2004 03:16 PM
if it had poetic lyrics or they meant something then i could see it,
That's the Hip Hop I listen to :D

Gangsta Rap is good but is has to be good stuff...like NWA. Pure anti-white, anti-establishment anger. I love it.

i cant stand anything where you dont play instruments. the only rapper i like is Eminem, because hes just really angry n stuff

halfdeadhippo 08-16-2004 03:19 PM

Whether or not I like rap/hip-hop depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

chopsueychick 08-16-2004 03:19 PM

i just find the actual music behind all the rapping and noise isnt good, its the same beat over and over and over and over and over ect

Check out The Roots. They do everything live, playing their own instruments. And they are poetic.

right you are

if there was some instrumentation in it, it could be standable, like if they had DIFFERENT beats for verses and choruses and bridges, but...they dont

Eminem needs to have some new shyt happen to him, cuz I'm real sick about hearing about his mom and his ex-wife. How many albums can you make like that?

He's not angry, he's sarcastic. Rediculously sarcastic. Seriously, go download 99 Problems and Change Clothes by Jay-Z, Jesus Walks and Through the Wire by Kanye West and Valentines Day, Roses, Spread and Prototype by OutKast

i admit im getting tired of him bitchin over his mom and ex wife. but like Hellbound, Purple Pills, Kill you, those were good songs!

Dancin' Man 08-16-2004 03:23 PM

Also on the same thought, Nine Inch Nails and lots of other Industrial band (NIN is best though) use beats very similar to rap and hip hop.

halfdeadhippo 08-16-2004 03:27 PM

RATM were awesome, it's a pity they split.

Paranoidd 08-16-2004 03:31 PM

True, but they were starting to slip.

Dancin' Man 08-16-2004 03:32 PM

Last one.

Jay-Z f. Eminem - Renegade. Listen to the backround. It is tight.

superpeer 08-16-2004 03:36 PM

The roots are a good hip hop band. :thumb:

I'm off to bed fellaz, work tomorrow.

Paranoidd 08-16-2004 03:39 PM
A bit I guess. For me, their debut was one of the best albums of the 90s, Evil Empire wasn't anywhere near as good, and The Battle Of LA was something like a return to form. Their covers album was dreadful on the whole though.
Their debut 0wned.

Evil Empire had Bulls on Parade.

But yeah, I see your point.

halfdeadhippo 08-16-2004 03:42 PM

Dancin' Man 08-16-2004 03:43 PM

Dancin' Man 08-16-2004 03:51 PM

I was born in Jersey. All my relatives still live there.

Per Ardua Ad Astra 08-16-2004 03:51 PM

Where in NJ?

halfdeadhippo 08-16-2004 03:52 PM

If I saw Jack White walking down the street, I'd probably shoot him... Just kidding, I probably wouldn't even recognize him.

Iggy Pop, MC5, Madonna, Kid Rock, Eminem, Ted Nugent- Michigan has the weirdest hodgepodge of famous people of any city ever.

What part of Britain are you from?

Paranoidd 08-16-2004 03:59 PM

I have Italian family living on the east coast of Britain. Their accent is pretty funny.
