Awesome, welcome aboard GPB!

metdrummer 01-27-2004 05:30 AM

Agreed, Slayer are the kings of Thrash

JMetallica 01-27-2004 05:36 AM

Aww, i wouldn't go that far :p

Show no mercy is definately the king of slayer though.

Overkill, Kreator and Sodom beat slayer for Best Thrashers Ever :thumb:

JMetallica 01-27-2004 05:37 AM

Oh, and Megadeth.

metdrummer 01-27-2004 05:41 AM

Well i think its slayer.... ha ha ha

JMetallica 01-27-2004 05:59 AM

Heheh, fair enough. :D

Theres no doubt that they are a tops band :thumb:

k'! 01-27-2004 06:03 AM

I like my Megadeth JMetallica, but they are not the best of anything really.

metdrummer 01-27-2004 06:11 AM

Yeah, they dont make many bands like slayer anymore...

JMetallica 01-27-2004 06:17 AM

Overkill > Kreator > Sodom > megadeth > slayer

Slayer = The Shit

LordDargon 01-27-2004 06:45 AM

Reign in Blood is the best slayer ever. Whats all this about Show No Mercy? The only REALLY good thing about it, was that it had chemical warfare... which is the best slayer song ever.

manuscriptreplica 01-27-2004 07:51 AM

reign in blood's too short. but it still owns.

k'! 01-27-2004 08:01 AM

Since joining the clan, I've been meaning to buy some of the CDs that were commented on, but I'm stripped for cash and should probably only buy maybe 2. Which ones should I get y'all?

manuscriptreplica 01-27-2004 08:10 AM

exodus - bonded by blood (if you can find it that is)
slayer - reign in blood (quite short though, maybe Show no Mercy instead)

manuscriptreplica 01-27-2004 08:12 AM

^^ but thats just me though. flotsam and jetsams doomsda for the destroyer is pretty good, i love it to bits anyway. it was newsteds old band before joining metallica, if that means anything to you.

k'! 01-27-2004 08:25 AM

^ ^ ^

Yeah, but doesn't automatically mean they're good. I'm a fan of Newstead, but only of his live persona. His bass means very little to me. No, I sorta didn't like Exodus when I was trying them out, but Testament I liked. Any Testament suggestions?

Here's something, have Metallica ever called themselves Thrash? I recall something about Bay Area Thrashers, but I don't think they called themselves that.

metdrummer 01-27-2004 08:31 AM

Early metallica was thrash

k'! 01-27-2004 09:06 AM

There's no rule about having to have different albums on your status. Individualism is a part of the Thrash titans. Hell, Deftoned had MOP and so was I, but I simply chose KEA because I got into it more lately. By the way. I notice some of us havethe album initials in nrackets and some don't. Whatever

Dunno, some names are obscure and you really can't tell, but I'm pretty sure you are, and I'm pretty sure you're still our newest member. I read a comic book and there was a quote that stuck in my mind. "90% of the people on the internet are guys, and the rest are guys who are pretending to be a girl."

I've been changing avatars every hour. I just can't seem to settle for just one. Maybe I can get female advice?

k'! 01-27-2004 09:48 AM

I'm goin to bed soon, I was just thinking that we should all add each other to our buddy lists for whatever good that will do. I've already added Girl-playing-bass and Deftoned and nothing mch has happened.

LordDargon 01-27-2004 12:09 PM

Whats all this about RIB being to short? It's got more stuff than SNM, just it's played 2 times as fast. Get it k'!, it's the ultimate thrash album.

And don't listen to Manuscript, he always gets the name wrong. It's DOOMSDAY FOR THE DECEIVER not Destroyer. And it is an excellent album. For a taste of what you'll hear on in, download Metalshock. You can actually hear Newsteads bass!

Ve Das 01-27-2004 12:26 PM

(Whoa, this Clan thing is gettin ways outta hand...)

Anyways,RIB is an ok album, overall, but IMO not that strong for a thrash album. It has quite a few great songs like Post Mortem,Angel Of Death and RIB but most of it just tends to blend together and get boring after awhile.

Holy crap! 14!?

Gees, and I thought liking priest at 18 was good.... Another salute from me!

And Lord Dragon, Chemical Warfare was from Haunting the Chapel... And everybody knows it is only the second best slayer song :P (right after TORMENTOR)

Exactly right. I'd give it maybe 7 or 8 tops out of 10... It is probably the weakest 80's slayer album. Just compare it to an album such as BtR or EN, and you will see just what a poor album it really is. Postmortem saves it's sorry arse from a 6 :p. (fantastic song)...

I'm 15, almost 16.. I've been into thrash for years man. I'm different from the poser nu-kids at school, and proud!

As for Tormentor being the best Slayer song, I must disagree. Criminally Insane has the coolest riff ever man (towards the end, after solos, when the drums slow down again). Tormentor is a kickass song tho.. and Chemical Warfare is just amazing.

Griffin_Page 01-27-2004 06:11 PM
