Txus 08-10-2007 11:38 AM

Bartender 08-10-2007 11:38 AM
Oh man I love that book. I've read some other ones in the series and they are good as well.
Yeah, I'm planning on picking up Speaker for the Dead and Ender's Shadow, and then working my way through the rest. Hopefully sometime soon.

bwnstl 08-10-2007 11:38 AM
You received some? The person that gave it to you has a negative total or doesn't have enough rep/posts for their power to count for anything.
Ooohh, makes sense then.
What's your avatar from?
Local music store, i'm the manager.
Niiice. You get a discount or anything?

Angmar 08-10-2007 11:39 AM

I wanna work at the music store that coming to my town.

repcak 08-10-2007 11:40 AM
Exactly.

And you guys are posting horribly again: bwnstl, hbp, slave to the parasites. You're on the verge of getting banned.
Jelle - sometimes you are just too nice...

Such a good series. Ender's Shadow is told through Bean's perspective (the runt from Ender's Game) and it's really great. I still need to pick up Speaker For the Dead.

Txus 08-10-2007 11:40 AM

Yeah, 20% discount on most albums....but not on DVD's or bands merch :(

And I'm currently reading Jean Jacques Rousseau stuff, pretty good.

Not bad on the albums, but yeah, the merch is the stuff that's pretty expensive. :(

There's an interview with Axl Rose if anyone's interested. This guy is seriously the most arrogant douche ever. Now he's whining about his hard family life. Great.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the Shadow books. Looking to read Speaker for the Dead first though, since Ender's Game was basically written in order to set up Ender's character for Speaker for the Dead.

Why the sarcasm? It hurts my feelings. :upset:

I really need to pick up Speaker For The Dead soon. I almost forgot about the Ender's Game series. They're all such great reads and they go by really quickly without feeling like you have no idea what's going on.

As for Ender's Shadow: Bean's life before the academy is really really interesting

Angmar 08-10-2007 11:54 AM

Just watched the Illusionist last night, great movie, much better than the Prestige.

Txus 08-10-2007 11:55 AM
Still, that's pretty good.
Oh, believe me, I know. I bought 3 amazing DM albums last week and I think I'm getting Remnants Revived for 8 bucks tomorrow.
Just watched the Illusionist last night, great movie, much better than the Prestige.
Is that the one with Ed Norton? I really need to see that, it looks interesting.
Still, though, the Prestige was pretty damned good too.

Angmar 08-10-2007 11:58 AM

I thought the Prestige was over the top and a bit hard to believe as far as plot line goes, and yeah i believe thats him, its a really good movie (the Illusionist).

Eliminator 08-10-2007 11:59 AM

why are you complaining about a movie being hard to believe

I rly didn't like it which doesn't make sense because I love Edward Norton.

Angmar 08-10-2007 12:00 PM

Well it wasn't suppose to be fiction, and I don't want to spoil the twist for anyone who hasn't seen it but it just seem like it couldn't ever happen, unrealistic, ect ect.

Jom 08-10-2007 12:00 PM

Both movies were really good, but I agree that The Illusionist trumps The Prestige by just a bit. I'm curious what Steerpike's opinion of the two movies are. I think I liked the one more than the other because it seemed a lot more arty, while the other one was just straight-up 1-upping after 1-upping, which was cool, but I enjoyed it slightly less than the entire Illusionist package.

EDIT: apparently if you watch the movies over, you see/understand the things you missed out on the first time, but then again, that seems to be the case for a lot of movies.

All actors no matter how good they are make some shitty movie(s).

Angmar 08-10-2007 12:02 PM

Lots of good actors make shitty movies nowadays.

bwnstl 08-10-2007 12:03 PM

Yeah, it's all about the money, unfortunately....way too MUCH money.

Angmar 08-10-2007 12:04 PM

No sir I have not. Not that I can remember...

bwnstl 08-10-2007 12:04 PM
have you read anything about Nikola Tesla?
Are you defending the premise of the movie?
