Nah, this one is a 6. Ive got a 7 Im working on now thats gonna be similar though.

Dont know why the humbucker is slanted, maybe someone else will help us out.

moghes69 05-30-2006 04:43 PM

variations in tone across the strings possibly..?..?..?

Patrick O))) 05-30-2006 04:46 PM

That might happen. The pickups will be picking up from closer to the bridge on the higher strings, where the vibrations will be smaller

hellonearth07 05-30-2006 06:10 PM

hey AG, what exactly we looking at there... i mean what is that done to the nob?? it looks damn cool, and IMO would fit perfectly on a hardcore/metal type guitar

Teh Secksi 05-30-2006 06:20 PM

I dont like that AG.

AG 05-30-2006 06:24 PM

Dimebag used to do it to his guitars, to give the volume knobs better grip. It's on the USA Custom model too.

You take a solering iron, and push it into the knob at regualr intervals. It melts the plastic and makes it bubble up over the side like that. That's the rough one to make sure I liked the look, I'll do a neat one tomorrow.

Teh Secksi 05-30-2006 06:29 PM

AG, can you visit my grounding thread in Guitars please?

^nah dawg,

Talc 06-04-2006 05:36 PM

I am modding my Squier P-Bass (*coguh*crap*cough*) and maiking alot better. Here's what it looks like now:

I am going to add:

EMG-PHZ Pickups
New Warmoth Neck (Maple/Maple or Birds-Eye Maple/Birds-Eye Maple, I havent decided yet)
Black Matte Pickguard with a white stripe around the edges.
Hipshot A Style Bridge (Mabye, If not a new Gotoh Bridge).
A decal of Greek symbol Pi on the center of the pickguard (White)
A decal of my name on the top of the headstock (Black)

If you know why I chose it to look this way, I praise you. If you dont know, I want my bass to look like the Bass in the T.V. Show "The Adventures of: Pete and Pete". The Episode is "Hard Days Pete" where Little Pete find his fav. song ("Summerbaby" by Polaris") but only hears the song once and for gets the song. Little Pete is destined to find the song again so he starts a band to learn the song. They learn the song and they play it for days. Well any ways, the bassist for Little Petes band is Ms. Fingerwood, Little Petes Algebra Teacher. Her bass is Black with a Maple neck/fingerboard with the greek symbol Pi on the pickguard. My bass will look the same. I <3 Pete and Pete.

hellonearth07 06-04-2006 09:27 PM

ahhhh the nostalgia of pete and pete... damn i miss that show, but DEF. post pics when its done

CCR90 06-04-2006 10:47 PM

Since this is the only pic I have of my bass(2nd fromn the left), I paln on putting some seymour duncan 1/4 pounders in there, repaint the body black or maybe a sonic blue, sand the name off the headstock and maybe add a jazz bass pup at the bridge.

scalloped the last 4 frets on my f-50, it turned out pretty well but im going to go back and clean everything up later on. heres the pics

fortyseven 06-06-2006 01:15 PM

that scalloping looks pretty sweet. how does it play?

Sir_Robert 06-06-2006 01:56 PM

it makes those top frets so much easier to play on. i use to not really ever go past 20, now i play all the way up to 24. and it makes bends way easier also

Pissed off AG 06-06-2006 02:47 PM

They look like very nicely done scallops, like.

Might wanna clean up the deeper scratches with sandpaper. I'll be scalloping down to 15 on my Shine in the summer.

Miek 06-06-2006 02:53 PM

Again, hacked?

Pissed off AG 06-06-2006 03:49 PM

Nope, I'm just saving AG's 15k post for a thread tomorrow.

Wont fit. You'll have to either modify the neck pocket on the bass, or the neck heel.

soz bud.

whats that guitar between the bass and the acoustic

CCR90 06-06-2006 05:37 PM

That would be some old pos guitar I bought off of ebay and is now in parts. One pickup is in the acoustic beside it. The neck is partially scallopwned and the electronics are just iunno.

Here's my bass, it's still kinda in the works a good bit. I plan on giving a nice white with silverflake paintjob, and getting the rest of the small parts that aren't on there yet.

It's a washburn 5 string that someone defretted, took the nut and electronics off and it cost me nothing for it. I gave it the stain on the body & neck, for a temporary fix. I payed $100 a complete set of carvin active electronics and pickups, $20 for the strings, $20 more for the knobs and nut. Not too bad for $140.

It's a kinda tight fit.

Here's my ampeg vt60 guitar amp head, which is going to get a few nice touch ups. I plan on putting a new emblem, new tolex, and IF ANYONE knows where to get them, some nice chrome knobs.

sunshineplaysbass 06-22-2006 12:11 AM

Ebay has tons of knobs, i went looking for amps, and half the results were amp knobs....you should be able to find them no problem.

peddlerofdeath 06-29-2006 10:12 AM

This is a pic of my friends bass I helped him mod. It started as a Squire P-Bass.

Sorry for the horrible background. I'm also finishing work on a Strat that I'll be posting pics of soon.
