the pixies, figures...
Cant say bad stuff about Volta, i went to Roskilde Festival partially to see them (altough they cancelled, bastards...)

Truth be told, I dont really care what u think, heh, u just keep on horassing other bands, if that makes u have fun...

The Mars Volta do rock by the way... and Deftones :naughty: truce?
I'm not "horassing" other bands. If anything, you came in here and whored Tool and are being an ***. I'm just trying to put you in your place.

Bigbadbob 01-23-2006 04:09 PM
1. Your first sentence makes you aound like a pretentious idiot.
2. Post-"grunge" crap like Tool is not art. It's in the same league as Candlebox as far as I'm concerned.
3. It's not "deep and emotional". To be honest, most music isn't.
4. I've read more than enough of his lyrics from all his projects and he's a giant moron. Being anti-christian and having insipid theories about human biology does not qualify you for the Smart Artists Club.
1. As does your's (first statement that is).
2. Not art? Did you run it through your ART-O-METER?
3. to be honest, see #1
4. Christians....they're intelligent by design.

He's already in his place. You're trying impose your place on him

1. I wasn't aware calling someone pretentious made you pretentious, but okay.
2. It's called an opinion.
3. Once again, apparently having an opinion is pretentious.
4. I have no idea what you're getting at, so whatever.

I think the point is you state your opinion as though it were fact. This other guy may be a pretentious idiot, while you are no idiot. Who should we expect to hold a higher standard?

Okay, so apparently I need to say "I think" or "in my opinion" before every single thing I say from now on pertaining to my thoughts on things.

No thanks.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2006 04:32 PM
No thanks in my opinion.
I corrected it for you.

SubtleDagger 01-23-2006 04:42 PM

(I think) it's stupid to have to state that I'm stating my opinion in order to not look "pretentious" (in my opinion).

Bigbadbob 01-23-2006 04:45 PM

1. neither did I. I merely said your 1st statment made you sound pretentious
2. Simply wondered how you arrived at such an elusive conclusion.
3. my we're touchy
4. convenient

SubtleDagger 01-23-2006 04:49 PM
1. You sound pretentious for some reason, I have no real argument for this or anything so just ignore it.
2. What do you mean, your opinion? I don't get it.
3. Geez, calm down dude, I'm above arguing because I'm cool and such.
4. You just don't understand me because it lets you get out of arguing with me I bet.
Oh okay.

Disco Donkey 01-23-2006 04:56 PM

Wow, it's kind of nice to be out of the LC drama for once. Now I just get to sit and watch it unfold from the sidelines. Sweet.

SubtleDagger 01-23-2006 05:00 PM

LC drama is like OC drama with less sex.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2006 05:02 PM
1. I'd like to apologize to everyone for the following:
1 My comments may come off as crass and rude because I simply dont know any better
2. I'm a teenager (well, mentally) therefore I still know everything.
3. I sometimes strike out at others cuz of the inadaquate size of my penis
4. I listen to candlebox
Apology accepted

SubtleDagger 01-23-2006 05:22 PM

Ha, the irony and hypocrisy of using personal attacks to accuse someone of being immature.

Bigbadbob 01-23-2006 05:32 PM

double HA, the absurdity and irrelavance of the price of tea in China.

RunAmokRampant 01-23-2006 07:34 PM

I like Tool. Maynard doesn't just sing about what Subtledagger said. Most of his stuff in APC is different and expressed on a more personal level. Take "The Noose", "3 Libras" and "Magdalena" for example.

SubtleDagger 01-23-2006 08:11 PM

"3 Libras" is typical angsty stuff. It sounds like it could be written by a teenager.

RunAmokRampant 01-24-2006 04:11 AM

What? I'd hardly call 3 libras an angst ridden song. Maybe you're thinking of Judith maybe?

Disco Donkey 01-24-2006 11:48 AM
Oh no you dont.

Sweet!?! SWEET!?! all post grunge music is sour. Think like I do or :smash:
Hey, hey, hey. Are you insulting my Bush? How dare you! Actually, they were the only good band to come out of that whole post-grunge era thing. So, I somewhat agree with you. Therefore, you cannot smash my head in with a hammer. At least, not yet.

I Love Fat women 01-25-2006 11:30 AM

When will the voting be closed?

Disco Donkey 01-25-2006 02:20 PM

It will probably be closed on Friday.

On another note, I hate stupid people. I'm at work right now and I just want to punch everybody who comes in and doesn't understand the concept of "bouncing checks." If you don't have money in your checking.......DON'T WRITE CHECKS! God, people are idiots.

But I want it NOW.

Tainted_Soul 01-25-2006 06:50 PM

maybe I'm in the wrong contest...angst seems to be what I got these days...is this the thread where everyone writes happy songs? p.s. is it just me or did about 80% of us immediately relate the word douse to fire...? I solemnly (I know thats spelled wrong..) swear not to be angsty anymore.

SubtleDagger 01-26-2006 09:03 AM

Do I have to copy paste the lyrics for you?

They're really typically angsty. They read like high schooler material actually.

Everyone has angst. Maybe that's why it's been done so much. But do you have the talent to make us want to read it? The use of language is an art form you could spend a life time cultivating if you so choose. Build your voacab and use dictionary.com if you need. I solemnly (spelled correctly) swear it will help.

Tainted_Soul 01-26-2006 02:13 PM

That was absolutely the most helpful tip I've gotten off this site so far. Thnx, will do.

Disco Donkey 01-26-2006 02:20 PM

Yeah, Bob is pretty much the Miss Cleo of the LC forums. His advice is infallible.
