My first punk show was in 7th grade, I went to some community center where there was a bunch of sh!tty local bands but there was this one good band from Nevada called Happy Campers are they were awesome. I remember going into the pit for the first time. It was so much fun.
Happy Campers? Those dudes are pretty awesome. I downloaded an album from them. Turns out they've sold over a million copies and they 'were all DIY'.

Cool.

Lazybassplr56 11-08-2005 11:47 PM

Yeah, I saw em twice at the same place. Not that many people in the crowd, but the place should have been packed.

blackflagfiend 11-09-2005 04:19 PM

my first punk show was the misfits last april and i went to the ozzfest when i was in the 7th grade but that was when i liked crappy metal bands like slipknot...

BuddyBigsby 11-09-2005 05:34 PM

Misfits are crappy too.

Oh yeah, I went there.

_Tyler 11-09-2005 05:35 PM

Most overrated band in the history of everything.

Im pretty sure I only like dig up her bones and thats from their 'not really the misfits anymore' period.

modern_man 11-13-2005 01:03 PM

the misfits arent overated.just more popular.i wasnt saying they are the greatest band of all time.but give credit where credit is due.i'll bet most of the bands most people listen to in punk, cite the misfits as an influence.:)

RCVA 11-13-2005 01:45 PM

I find them a tad boring.

redrumsixsix6 11-13-2005 05:39 PM

factor46 11-13-2005 06:00 PM

Mine was Blindside, back when they first came to America and were hardcore and awesome. Really good show.
My first huge hardcore show though, better than all of your's:

Stiggy's War(Desperate Measures)
Mental
Righteous Jams
Lights Out
Our Turn
Mind Eraser
Lion of Judah(first show)
Iron Age(first show)
Make Move
the Warriors
Set Your Goals

I may be forgetting one or two.
That would be like my 3rd hardcore show...

First... the one with The Distance, Outbreak, Some Kind Of Hate, Champion, and Comeback Kid in July '04. I missed Champion and Comeback Kid though.

shane italian 11-13-2005 09:33 PM

People who hate on the Misfits probably think that Bane rule.

That wasn't actually my first, just first "big" one like I said. I just wanted to win the thread.

Yeah I noticed that after I posted... the 3rd show I went to had bands: Our Turn, Lights Out, Righteous Jams, Internal Affairs, Mental, and I am sure I am forgetting somebody else, but I forgot.

they are now....:upset:

flamey088 11-14-2005 05:26 PM

misfits arent bad, but they're very popular. The one thing i hate is all their merch, like the other day i saw misfit chuck taylors and slipon vans. Why not just have band tee's?

modern_man 11-14-2005 06:25 PM

and dont forget the nice pewter belt buckle....yeah i agree, people have gone overboard with the misfits merchandise.if the misfits broke up today it wouldnt be a big loss.but the legacy of the misfits is always gonna be of a great band.

blackflagfiend 11-15-2005 03:43 PM

eh most people dont like them because of all of their merch n crap, but its jerry only whos doing that. Back in the 80s when Glenn was in the band, you didnt see all of that crap
