That's fine. So recently, I've been hearing alot about The Congos - Heart of the Congos. Do any of you guys have it? Any good? |

Thanks. I thought it was great, very relaxed with a dub element mixed in. Dreadlock corner would have to be my favorite track on it. "Unite black people unite, its time to stop the fussing and fighting" Peace, and thanks again. |

Tell me what you guys think. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=04N7UWLM
wasnt bad actually...missing a nice jamaican singer though, iam not a big fan of any reggae that doesnt involve a reggae accent, but it wasnt bad, you should write a blurb about them. |

Where do you guys buy your reggae and dub albums from? My local stores don't have a very good selection.

How would dub be performed live? Because isn't it mainly done in the studio with all the knobs and switches and buttons and stuff?

i dont think its performed, but like played on sound systems or some kind of dj equipment. From that came rap, or toasting as it was called back in the day (stuff like prince jazzbo) where the dj would kinda make up lyrics over the dub tracks being played on his turntables or whatever was being used to play the dub tracks |

I figured it would involve some sort of DJ-ing. It would be interesting to hear. |
Recently I've been liking Bad Brains a lot (as seen by new avatar). All I have is the s/t and I Against I though. You guys have any reccomendations as to what albums I should pick up next?

If you want a pure dub album, go with I & I Survived. My favorite dub song, "Jah Love", is on there. If you're looking for content similar to the S/T, go with Rock For Light. That album has the really fast songs with the occasional reggae in there. My favorite reggae song of theirs, "The Meek", is on that one. For more of the slower-paced rock stuff on I Against I, go with Quickness. I think that's their worst album, but that's not saying much. :) Also check out a few other releases like Black Dots and The Omega Sessions. Black Dots is a really cool album after you have heard their S/T. It is their demo. You can hear all the extra talking in between recordings. Also, at the time, clubs in DC didn't allow Bad Brains to play their songs so fast, so during this recording you hear a lot of the same songs, but slowed down considerably. It is really good if you're already a fan. The Omega Sessions is a very short but worth it album/EP. It has another (and better, in my opinion) version of "I Against I". There is also a song on there that is very unique. In all other releases by them, you would have hardcore/punk songs and then reggae songs. Hardly ever mixing. In the song "Stay Close To Me", the two genres are mixed and it sounds really awesome. I <3 Bad Brains |
I found out that Easy Dub All Stars are going to cover OK Computer!
