There we go. Again, somethings weird with audio/video synching, but its not terrible. I go through the basics of the rhythm changes, and then do a little showing off with an interpretation of Sonny Rollins' Oleo.

your tapping skills disgust me.

only 1 comment, i think, imho, that istead of giving out chord names perhaps scale degrees the chord function, I VI7 II-7 V5 blah blah blah. that why its applicable to any key

HaVIC5 06-17-2005 06:44 PM

Right, right, I didn't really rehearse it or think it through all too much before pressing record, I'll do a more thorough job next time. :thumb:

It wasn't supposed to be a demonstration of talent, per se, but thanks!

artificial harmonics

StrangeVision 06-18-2005 12:32 AM

HaVIC, I beg of you to put your videos on a different site, it's not working on my computer.

RideTheTiger 06-18-2005 04:04 AM
Is yousendit working for you guys? Because whenever I try to upload this lesson, it craps out on me.
You mean it doesn't upload? It takes pretty much time, but the download is much faster than from megaupload. 7kb/s at mega and 252kb/s at yousendit.

Artificial Harmonics vid now up.

6erAnimeBassist 06-18-2005 07:08 AM

hey quatre, im curious to know how low your action is. I know you cant really give an exact size but is it as low as it can be before getting fret buzz, or quite high?

Left Shoe 06-18-2005 08:38 AM

action can have a specific number, mines at 1/16th of an inch

its as low as i can get it.

Phalanx 06-18-2005 01:24 PM

that was great quatre, I didn't see any smiles but i think you were into your harmonics too much, this should really be put into the lessons or resources section or atleast be stickied cos this stuff is really useful.
Havic, that was just crazy

Larrivée-6-string 06-19-2005 05:56 AM

Nice stuff Quatre - I can now double thumb, all be it quite sloppily. Not sure why, but that vid made it all make sense :) even the Wooten ones didn't do th@ for me - I've been shown quickly by Alain Caron as well & never got it :)

Linkinbassist 06-19-2005 06:00 AM

Double thumping still makes no sense to me...i can't fucking do it!!!

Chameleon 06-19-2005 07:30 AM

How do you mean? :amaze: I'm pretty crap at it, but I think I've got the basic idea. What are you having trouble with?

Manticore Guy 12-18-2005 12:07 AM

I know this is a VERY late bump, and that I probably shouldn't be doing it. However, it would be extremely awesome and I think very helpful to some mxers here if anyone who has quatre's Double thumbing video could upload it. I'd be grateful if anyone could.:chug:

faelun 12-18-2005 12:33 AM

UrbaneSimian 12-18-2005 06:55 AM

Hey dudes,

sorry if you've already seen this page on my website a few (bzillion) times already, but there are some technical things to do with picking that might help you get some of the weirder, less practical, picking styles together:
