Hey, I'm another noob (please don't hurt me) that wandered over from the guitar tabs page and thought this looked interesting. I've been making promises to myself to knuckle down and write some lyrics, and now that I have a glorious five months to myself, I might actually be able to do that. A song every week for five months is... well, a hell of a lot.

Just a question; it says that all participants have to vote, otherwise they can't participate in the next round. Does that go for n00bs like myself who weren't in the last round?

(Sorry if that's a stupid and/or obvious question; I do that sometimes)

This is mainly to addicted_tochaos and anyone else who was a little confused about the line in my piece that mentioned Morella. Morella is a Poe story in which a man marries a woman named Morella who is obsessed with the principles of identity. Soon the main character falls out of love and even becomes afraid of Morella, hoping she will soon pass away. As he hoped, his wife dies in labor of a new baby girl. The main character tries his best to love the new baby girl (which he subconsciously names Morella as well), but as she gets older, he realizes she is more and more like her mother, until he decides that in his mind she is a reincarnated form of the first Morella. This drives him over the edge and he decides to murder the child, but when he opens up the mother's tomb to bury the child, her mother's remains are gone, perhaps stating that the child was indeed a reincarnated form of her mother?

If by chance I win this challenge, 2nd place will have to pick a topic. The Mrs. and I are celebrating 22 years together today and we're running off to the, where else, mountains for a few days. Until of course she finds out I've forgotten my Viagra... in which case we'll be home early!!!

any possible way i can withdraw my entry from the challenge, i know i'm doing **** (i'm used to that) but i want to withdraw it because its just a rough idea, i had no other place to write them down without losing them because i'm on tour and the bus is very messy.

I don't think you can withdraw your entry once the voting has already started.

Dont worry about it. Keep the entry in. Any further crits made can help you better your second draft of the song. I'm sure the song will turn out fine. :thumb:

i agree, i love how what i think is one of my worst peices is the one i bring in for a first impression here

i think mine was taken too seriously. it was supposed to be more tongue in cheek and focus on wordplay and kinda inspired by rap. granted, i knew the beginning was horrible, but it was just for ****s n giggles

congrats bbb, pretty good stuff, i enjoyed it.
