Probably, I made a thread about them and the glitterati awhile back, and nobody seemed to care. I bought a promo version of their album, I don't think the album proper had even been released. It's a rather good album, Sex is my favourite song this year. Check out the Glitterati too, their album is due soon.
I saw the Glitterati live a while ago. I thought they were pretty good as an opening act, but no one else seemed to think so.
18 and Life is awesome (though I've just realised I don't have it on this computer). Wanted Dead or Alive I never liked that much, despite a ska cover of it.
wanted dead or alive isn't a ballad. the acoustic version of livin on a prayer is a ballad. Plus, who can forget the infmous "Every rose has its thorn"

Jon 05-05-2005 09:44 AM

Yes it is

Seen it on Live in London? God yeah

shakeappeal 05-05-2005 10:42 AM

the best glam band ever were probably the NY dolls. Hanoi Rocks are great too! and we cant leave ta bowie, t rex, and mott the hoople, and the sweet.

Bartender 05-05-2005 10:43 AM

Has anyone heard of Vain? I was just told by a friend of mine (big rock'n'roll/glam fan) that he'll be seeing them live in a couple of weeks.

spitfirejunky 05-05-2005 06:07 PM

Is it safe to define glam rock as rock in which the musicians dress in flaming clothes? It seems that people are lumping Motley Crue with The New York Dolls, two bands who have substantially different sounds. What is glam rock exactly?

Unlike most musical genres, it's more about the look than the sound.

ledpoisoning27 05-05-2005 07:59 PM

Most Glam Rock bands I like can also be considered Proto Punk. Like The Stooges or New York Dolls.

ultimaterocker 05-05-2005 09:26 PM

alot of glam rock as extremelly outgoing singers with girl like high pitched voices

Bartender 05-05-2005 09:28 PM
Opening for who? I bought their first single, but I've read that the album is a bit weak on the songwriting front. I hope that's not the case, it's not based on what I've heard.
Therapy?. So they didn't really stand a chance of upstaging the headliners in my eyes, but they still seemed good.

Jon 05-06-2005 09:12 AM

For the last time, this is a Hair/Glam Metal thread. Not anything to do with Bowie or T Rex. Thank you.

But I love the Dolls and this is my thread so talk about them with pleasure.

Jon 05-06-2005 04:30 PM

Oh my god I left out Steel Dragon from the list.

They own.

Discuss.

Bartender 05-06-2005 04:32 PM

Are they a real band?

Jon 05-06-2005 04:35 PM

Zakk makes them real in my eyes.

glaiven 05-07-2005 09:53 AM

18 and life

Glitterati 05-07-2005 11:54 AM
Zakk makes them real in my eyes.
Ah, of course

Yep, glam rock is fun.

Pantera in Chains 05-12-2005 05:10 PM

I haven't but will check them out.
Has anyone heard of Steelheart. They were a late 80's early 90's glam band that had at least one good cd which was produced by Bruce Dickinson. Their singer is great and he sang some of the tunes for Steel Dragon in rockstar. They had a ballad which is almost a ballad of all ballads called She's gone. I recommend you check them out.

highwaychild377 05-12-2005 05:45 PM

what do people think of the scorpions? awesome songs with an awesome lineup of guitar players

highwaychild377 05-12-2005 05:50 PM

and steelheart is good. i would recommend tesla as well, and queensrhych too, altough they were more prog.

highwaychild377 05-12-2005 06:17 PM

anybody like danger danger?

highwaychild377 05-12-2005 06:19 PM

and whos seen the lynch video "mr. scary"? it is like coolness embodied in guitar playing.

Metallifan85 05-12-2005 07:45 PM
anybody like danger danger?
Goin' Goin' Gone is a pretty cool song

Its also the only one I've ever heard by them, so yeah

highwaychild377 05-12-2005 08:32 PM

yeah, thats a good one. another big one of theirs that comes to mind is 'naughty naughty'. quite humorous, that song.

Jon 05-13-2005 12:26 PM

What do people think about This Left Feels Right by Bon Jovi?

Jon 05-19-2005 10:38 AM

Does anyone have any Loud N Nasty songs? They're not on Limewire or BT and I desperately need a few to fill out tomorrow night's playlist (I'll post it here in an hour or so)

LE: And does anyone have Kanagawa Ratts by Ratt? Its pretty ok. I wish the sound quality was better though :(

Griffin_Page 05-19-2005 11:44 AM

Glam was too simple and flamboyant for me.

Jon 05-19-2005 02:04 PM

Here's my playlist for my party tomorrow night. Before I shuffle it and burn it all, its 5:45:24 long and I think I should cut it down just a tad.

What shall I take off?

blue3 05-19-2005 10:40 PM

I like some of the songs on the list.. But, why that DJ Sammy song? And less Micheal Jackson songs..

Jon 05-20-2005 12:29 AM

But those are good songs :(

The Winger is good. Seventeen anyway.

SeasonOfTheMad 05-20-2005 03:57 AM
