You're welcome.
So I've listened to most of the Snake Demos now; it's good stuff. I'm not a huge fan of the singer, his voice is quite weak but the music is top drawer. One of the songs reminds me of the Georgia Satellites, that type of country-glam. Thanks :)
I don't love his voice, but I don't mind it either. But then I suppose you're more experienced in glam vocalists than I. And yeah, I'm quite surprised that at least a couple of these didn't make it into 'real' songs later on. If/when you get around to the listening to the Ginger/drum machine stuff, there's one song (The Violent Ones, I think) which doesn't seem to have either Ginger or Snake on vocals. I think they were recorded before Snake was part of the band, so that makes sense, but it sounds conceivably like Danny. And Danny didn't join the band until after Snake had come and gone, I think. So I've no idea who it is. |
Well bits of them surely made their way into future songs, but a lot of what's here sounds mostly new.
The Violent Ones is the one I was talking about yesterday actually, when I said I recognised the "da-dun, dadiddle-iddle-iddle dun" (around 3:40), though I've still be unsuccessful in figuring out where it's from :( I know it's from one of their 'main' songs, too (as opposed to an obscure b-side, I mean), so it's annoying me. |
When I was waiting for my train home today some guy stopped to talk to me about my Wildhearts shirt. Turns out he was a massive fan
Also, Mr. Bartender Man...where did the song Christeen come from? |
