am i the only one who finds this thread some what disappointing? i mean when it comes to trip hop yes massive attack, portishead, tricky and that Bristol sound are the staples of the genre, but there is so much trip hop out there...you guys need to check out this site [URL="http://www.triphop-music.com/"]http://www.triphop-music.com/[/URL] there's slews of the shyt all over the world sometimes you have to get away from the people who are more commonly known or popular and look else where to broaden your horizons anyways hope this helps you guys find some new sounds in trip hop, i've got some of those people on the list (not much yet) but if anyone wants to hear some samples let me know and i'll post it for you guys to hear (that is if i have that particular band/group/artist)...but don't limit trip hop to massive attack and so on it gets quite annoying at times (even though sometimes it's necessary to explain) explore a bit :thumb: oh yeah and although he's nowhere mentioned on the site check out DJ Krush (definitely some good stuff there) he's more on the hip hop side of trip hop with instrumentals but well worth to check out

Alright guys...First of all...I'm new on this so if I'm posting this in the wrong area...Please don't be too pissy with me....Now that I've said that...

I've been listening to Trip-hop, downtempo, acid jazz, etc. for about a year now and I'm looking to take music production courses as soon as I get the cash to....So in the mean time I figured I mine as well start producing my own beats and instrumentals...Unfortunately I'm only fluent on the drums, which means any strings or keyboard or whatever, comes out sounding pretty bad.

So heres my point....I was wondering if anyone who listens to trip-hop, downtempo, etc. could give me some advice on other instruments or even form a little internet collabo or something it would be greatly appriciated.

If I'm totally out of my league please tell me so...I was just looking for something to help me with producing and bounce ideas around.
