I have more nirvana if U want it

Invicta_Veritas 09-10-2004 06:39 PM
so which band are you in...atreyu or breaking benjamin?
niether--i have my own band thats trying to get off the ground, but we already have people that were supposedly friends of ours that are letting a sh*tload of people burn our cd so they don't have to buy it from us. Were already getting a taste of that sh*t

xNYYankees 09-10-2004 06:40 PM

Basically, Atreyu = idiot. U know why? Paying rent and all that shit? Do you exactly know what you DO for the band, when you actually buy the CD for them? Label keeps the profit, not the band. Band only keeps 3% of the profit. You wanna support the bands you like? Go to their god damn shows. Great. Thanks for starting another stupid dumbfuck argument.

Go waste your money buying CD's, see who gives a fuck.

I still enjoy all my mp3 files. and I love sharing with others who have not heard the certain bands.

Invicta_Veritas 09-10-2004 06:52 PM

F*ck off, i'm putting myself through college for this sh*t, you don't know what the f<ck youre talking about..... your little 3% figure is way off, and it varies anyway. and you know why the labels keep so god**** much? because of people that rip ****----they have to make up for profit loss. They have to shell out the *** to record a single album, of which they don't even know will sell, and then pay for labor costs, management and f<cking advertisement for these bands. Besides, you are horribly incorrect-the label doesnt get most of it-- the f<ckin record stores and distributors get it. So the more people like you try to justify ripping ****, the fewer bands even get to make a record, the fewer records sell, and fewer shows bands can even do in the first f<ckin place because its the record labels who have to be able to afford the promotors to book tours.

That, my friend, is the truth, from someone who has studied it for a very long time.

F*ck off.

xNYYankees 09-10-2004 06:59 PM

hahah no one still gives a shit brotha. People like me love to share mp3 files, introducing a new band from one to another. It's a great way to discover a new band.

Invicta_Veritas 09-10-2004 07:01 PM

its a good way to f<ck a band over before theyve even begun lol but go ahead

xNYYankees 09-10-2004 07:10 PM

how would a band get fucked over? People will grow to like the band, and go to their shows and eventually "support" the god damn band how you urge to be. I don't think anyone in the first place, "buy" the album first, before actually listening to them and knowing what they sound like. Before even deciding to buy a CD, you have to give a few listens see if you like it or not. Mp3 works out great. It would just a waste of money buying a CD, "yeh I just found out this band let's go buy the CD". Go ahead, I'm not stopping you from buyin CDs. do what you gotta do. However, for me mp3 worked great, to get into all Metal different genres. and I try to go to all the shows I can. so I don't think I'm "fucking over" any band. I do believe that I support the bands without buying any CDs.

Invicta_Veritas 09-10-2004 07:12 PM

ok whatever do what you feel you have to do. ive said all im going to say.......just think that what i said doesnt come from a fans perspective----its coming from the performer's.

xNYYankees 09-10-2004 07:12 PM

oh I got ya, but the way you spoke to the others was so arrogant, so I had to be an ass about it. Otherwise, I get your point.

That would work if the labels didn't also profit from concert sales.

PIGS(1 different one) 09-10-2004 11:02 PM

Hey, if a record store within 2 hours drive sold the music I was looking for I would buy it.

Trust me, if I like a band enough I will buy the album by ordering it.

Also, it is a way to check out bands, if radio doesn't play them how are we supposed to hear them other than this or other pirating methods?

Big-Bird 09-10-2004 11:02 PM

the only one worth anything is probably Coroner - Punishment For Decadence.

i also have

Metallica : Ride The Lightning, And Justice For All, Load, Kill Em All
Slayer: Reign In Blood, Seasons In The Abyss
Pantera: Far Beyond Driven
Green Jelly: Cereal Killer Soundtrack

and if you guys are interested in some Dead Kennedys just hit me up. dumbxjackass (AIM)
Any Kalmah? :D

Hahaha, no Kalmah. :(

But I don't mind suggesting stuff:

Soilwork
Slayer
All the Killswitch Engage Cds
Lamb Of God
All the Machine Head Cds
Almost all the Fear Factory Cd's
In Flames (no colony)
Obituary
Children of Bodom
Meshuggah
Testament
All Chimaira
Dream Theater
Unearth
Arch Enemy
Dark Tranquility
Strapping Young Lad
The Agony Scene
Sepultura
All Soulfly
Ozzy Osbourne
Static X
Hatbreed
Dry Kill Logic
Mudvayne
All Glassjaw

Thats all I have. I have scattered mp3s from Carnal Forge and hundreds of others. Only two Kalmah mp3's if you would want them.

Ramsey 09-10-2004 11:24 PM

Oh as for suggesting :D :D :D

The Agony Scene is good, its like Children of Bodom mixed with Lamb of God and gothic music, it makes a great atmosphere.

The new Unearth is worth a shot, I thought it was great.

Chimaira is good, the last cd anyways, and the new Fear Factory cd is wonderful

PIGS(1 different one) 09-10-2004 11:30 PM

Yeah, I heard the new unearth in a friends car today while cruising home from work.
Pretty good stuff, I want to buy it, or download it. :D

lunch998 09-11-2004 07:34 AM

I use WinMx to download songs. As long as you elect not to share your files, you won't get caught by the feds. It's probably faster than trading albums too.

But anyways, I have classic rock cds/mp3s on my comp that I could give people.
My Aim is lunch998.
