I didn't really like them, but saw them last year, and they put on one hell of a live show. Josh Homme really has so much charisma. What are they doing now without Oliveri though?
Good question.

I think Josh is going to do another Desert Sessions, which is a good thing.

The last one had PJ Harvey doing vocals and was really good.

Homme is a really underrated guitarist. I have a video of him playing with Kyuss (it was posted in the forum here a while back) and he really rocks it.

MalcolmYoungRock 08-16-2004 02:49 PM

halfdeadhippo 08-16-2004 02:50 PM
Actually I read it :D

In the movie he says gasoline and orange juice.

Chuck Palahniuk, the author, is **** good. I recommend anyone who reads to check out his other books. They're like fight club, if not, better.
Crap! My mom just left for the library and I could have asked her to see if they had that book. Now I'll have to walk up there later and see if they have it.

Except for the Jeff Healey Band, I have all those as well.

BludgeonySteve 08-16-2004 02:56 PM

very nice. I was just showing range with popular bands.

Though I don't like any death, black metal :amaze:

Dancin' Man 08-16-2004 02:57 PM

I've got... Tool, Radiohead, A Perfect Circle, The Mars Volta, At the Drive-In, The Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, In Flames, Bush, Interpol, Dredg, Rufus Wainwright, OutKast, Queens of the Stone Age, Rammenstein and there are a couple more I don't really listen to.

MalcolmYoungRock 08-16-2004 02:57 PM

Death Black Metal scares me. They're like "IM GONNA SUCK YOUR BLOOD THEN SACRIFICE YOU TO SATAN!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" while im sitting in the corner "and shes buuyyiiing a staiiirrwayy to heeaaveen..."

BludgeonySteve 08-16-2004 02:58 PM

My god, those weren't all of the bands I had albums of. I just wanted to show the range of my music tastes.

Paranoidd 08-16-2004 03:00 PM

Death Metal is great.

Example: today, my boss asked me to stay late. I said "ok".

Then I put on two Vader CD's. Guess how many people came by my desk for idle chit-chat or to break my balls or ask me to do something?

0.

I love death metal.

MalcolmYoungRock 08-16-2004 03:01 PM

Ok, I'm sorry. Just playing on what I hear. Give me quotes. I might need them.

i actually have that song! :p

Rage Against The Lavigne 08-16-2004 03:02 PM

My music tends to be very mellow. I mainly like songs such as Schism, moon light sonarta and most ska songs.

As you can probably guess; I'm not a huge fan of death metal etc.

People suck ;)

halfdeadhippo 08-16-2004 03:02 PM
The problem is, I'm getting more and more into older music, so I've got a stupidly big list of albums to get. As if in dozens that I really want. God my life is hard.
I feel for you, man. What really sucks is that I have a 24-cd cd case. So when I go on multi-week vacations, I always have to leave lots of cd's out. Also, the original draft of my christmas list last year was two pages, front and back, of nothing but cd's.

feedthegods666 08-16-2004 03:05 PM

here ya go buddy

EMPEROR
Four eyes as two in one
The forward circular view
That never ends
An orbital voyage
Throughout this endless sphere of all
Where time is lost and everything transcends

IMMORTAL
Winter of the ages so dark so cold that flames turn to the bluest frost
Mountains of ice rises above an dead an frozen ground
The ravens returns to the hills
And the Millennium black bells of eternal frost

MORBID ANGEL
Blessed Be The one
The Most Ancient one
Blessed be the one
Who was here before and after remain
Blessed be the meekness of the flesh
I watch as it withers and dies

CRADLE OF FILTH
Lurking in the shade
Of dark and fragrant trees
Shirking from the rage
That tore the heavens free
A vagrant Angel
His with span to see
The garden swell with terrors
To banish Man and Eve

are any of those about blood sucking or satan sacrificing?

halfdeadhippo 08-16-2004 03:05 PM

I'm just going to invest in a 96-cd cd case. My friend has one and it's actually not much bigger than the one I have now.

I have a 96 CD case, a 50 CD spindle, and a 25 CD Case. I bring all these to work every day. If I didn't have them, I'd go mental. And I have more CD's at home. :naughty:

chopsueychick 08-16-2004 03:10 PM

people at work wont let me listen to the kind of music i like :( they all like hiphop s*** it sucks balls!
people at work wont let me listen to the kind of music i like :( they all like hiphop s*** it sucks balls!
i dont want to turn this into an ANTI HIP HOP thread, but...how can people just listen to hip hop? i can see why you'd listen to it while you're dancing or something, but to just plain listen to? if it had poetic lyrics or they meant something then i could see it, but NO instruments NO song meanings NO nothing. all its about is screwing girls....thats just really shallow...

sry, i had to get that off my chest :D

Dancin' Man 08-16-2004 03:16 PM

Hip hop/Rap is great depending on the artist. Some suck but thers are great. Go try out some OutKast (if it's off of The Love Below it's like.....prog rap. Very cool), Kanye West (Jesus Walks is insanely good), Ludacris, Jay-Z and Eminem. That's all rap actually but hip hop is good too.
