If you're listening, WOAH! In case you were wondering, Jimmy Eat World has been shacked up at Rainbow Recording Studios in Tucson, Arizona working on the follow up to the platinum "Bleed American." Engineer/Producer Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Dashboard Confessional) and the band have been there for a few weeks now. November never came so Early Rumor has it that Jeff is back in The Early November. People are saying that the band announced it at the S&S. More info to come soon. EDIT: From The Early November's site: Okay...so here's the deal. Apr 18 2004 There has been a lot going on with The Early November this past week. I'll try to explain. Jeff felt he needed some time off and was also questioning his future with the band. We respected this and decided to let him take the tour off and have Matt (our tour manager / sound engineer) fill-in. After the first night of tour with Less Than Jake, Jeff called and said he would not be returning to the band. We were devestated. We didnt want to continue on the tour (even though Matt was/is doing great), we didnt even know if we could continue as a band. Jeff completes The Early November...something is missing without him. After a few shows we started to feel better, although still upset about Jeff leaving, we decided we would just grin and bear it and start the inevitable process of looking for a new drummer. A few more days go by, and we get another call by Jeff. He says he made a mistake by leaving the band and asks to comeback. We said yes. He will start touring again with us this summer on the Warped Tour. To make a long story short: Jeff left the band. Jeff rejoined the band. Amity-ville Danni Valencia, former drummer of Name Taken, is now the new drummer of Amity. Johnny has left the band to go back to school and start his own booking agency. There are absolutely no hard feelings towards one another. The band has also put up their new website with new features, as well and their new merch store. Boy's final show Boy Hits Car will be playing their final show Saturday, April 24th at The Whisky in Hollywood, CA. To Hell with all your friends! According to Adam at Skate and Surf, Taking Back Sunday's new album will be coming out on July 27th. Some of the new songs are called "The Union", "A Decade Under The Influence", "Set Phasers To Stun", "Bonus Mosh Pt. 2", and another song that didn't have a name mentioned. Punk festival? In Washington? The Cure has been confirmed as the headliner for this year's HFStival (99.1 WHFS - Washington, DC). Other bands playing as announced are Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard, The Offspring, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, New Found Glory, Cypress Hill, Jay-Z, P.O.D, Papa Roach, O.A.R, Modest Mouse, and more. Happiness By The Kilowatt Destination Europe Sugarcult are to tour UK/Europe between the 13th and the 27th of June. Dates are still to be announced! Not pop punk, but I like 'em! Feeder have reassured fans that they won't have to wait much longer to hear new material. Singer Grant Nicholas has revealed that he has already written 14 songs for the new album, the follow-up to 2002's 'Comfort In Sound'. "Everything's coming along nicely. I've written about 14 songs so far, and I'm aiming for 20 before we go into the studio. I'll then pick ten and that should be the record done and dusted. We're just chatting to possible producers at the moment before starting work on my demos," he told XFM. Nicholas was also keen to reassure fans that there would be a Feeder release before too long, adding: "I'm hoping we'll get something out before the end of the year, be it the album itself or a single to precede it. "The demos I've already recorded are sounding pretty good, so we'll probably use them as the foundation for the studio work, but we'll have to see how they progress. I wrote a fair amount of lyrics when I was on holiday on the beach, so you can expect lots of songs about water, waves and sand!" he revealed. But it's not all good news - Nicholas said that apart from a recently confirmed show at London's Hammersmith Apollo as part of Carling Live 24, there are no concrete plans for any more Feeder shows this year. "We've got no plans to play any other shows this year. Well, maybe one - but no festivals! Depending on how the rehearsals go, we may try and play one of the new songs at the Carling gig, but I want to hang on to most of our new tunes for the album," he said. Unwritten Tour A reliable source has suggested that Unwritten Law will not be joining The Offspring due to a dispute they had with their record label . News as it comes to me ... This came after it was announced that Unwritten Law would be joining them in the Australian your in June. A good source has said that the date range for The Offspring tour of Australia is roughly the 16th of June to the 26th Of June. No dates are firm as of yet. I will let you know when i know more! Live Freaky Die Freaky! So if you haven't heard about this film, it's a puppet film which is being made by Hellcat Records. I know you don't like them, but still... Danielle Quisenberry of Central Michigan Life reports that Alecia Holst had no idea when she left for Detroit Friday night (April 16) to attend a Slipknot concert at Harpos Concert Theatre that it would be her last. Holst did not return to Mount Pleasant. While at the concert, she went into sudden cardiac arrest, her heart failed and she was rushed to St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit where she died Tuesday night. She was 21. Doctors are unsure what caused the arrest. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor. Her friends at CMU, the same friends she had at Thornapple Kellogg High School in Middleville, where she spent her young life, will remember her as the smiling, but stubborn girl who kept them grounded. We had written a couple of songs that we thought he'd be perfect to play on, the songs needed sort of a turbo Stewart Copeland meets big slow old black sabbath sludge feel to them and he totally nailed it, neither song have titles as of yet but we call one "blackheart" and i think i heard Nate call the other one "mark it 8 dude". Other than that much didn't go on today me and Iggy finally got the whole studio diary thing figured out so I can post stuff whenever my heart desires, which I promise will be on a regular basis. Now to sort of address a question i think is probably on the mind of a few people. A couple of months ago the band decided to part ways with Pappas, and I know that most of have you know this and are more interested in why it happened! and I don't really know what to say other than we just progressed musically in different directions and things just didn't really work out, but Pappas is a great drummer and I'm sure he's gonna do great things in other bands. Actually last time I heard he was the touring drummer with JamesonParker, So yeah ummm..today was a pretty short day at the studio, we all bailed at about 7, and since tomorrow is a day off we're all going home, but we'll be back in the studio monday and i'll have more to write about then. So you all have a great weekend and take care. Grizz |

Website's funeral Funeral For A Friend have a new website at http://www.ffaf.co.uk Finch studio diary entry We saw Pinback at the troubador tonight and they ruled!!! Seriously amazing, Rob Crow's voice is so amazing, and there simple use of computers and samples in there songs is ****ing brilliant...if anyone hasn't heard them i really suggest to pick up the cd "blue screen life", and if you like that you'll like one of his side projects called "Thingy" the record I have is called "to the innocent"...anyways....oh yeah we had another day of preproduction, we spent most of the time sitting around in a circle with our laptops trading music with instant messanger...we're such geeks! and bootleggers, Finch completely support downloading music, and hate Metallica for ruining the fun for everyone....alright so the songs of the day were "Bitemarks and Bloodstains" "INK", and "mushroom party"(working title) no real major changes just little things here and there, just to sort of spruce it up as Marc would put it, and other than that I've got nothing, today was pretty mellow...oh has anyone ever gotten the ****s from popcorn? well I did! I could barely get off the toilet for the earlier part of the day and it sucked...haha why am I writing this i'm such a dork. Goodnight everybody I hope everyone had a great day. Grizz |
