I am trying to find Summer employment to not much avail

I might have to apply to McDonalds :[ should be 'ok' since a few of my friends work there but mehhhhh

Angmar 05-19-2009 01:40 PM

Yeah I need a summer job as well, sucks.

TimJim 05-19-2009 01:41 PM

ive had a job for the last year and a half. until last week i was working 50hrs/wk between my job at noodles and my internship at walgreens

negrodamus 05-19-2009 01:46 PM

I'll be working at the same place this summer that I've worked at the past two summers. It's basically an internship (answering phones, various paperwork, **** no one else wants to do). I make $8.50/hour to sit on my *** and play around on the internet for 8 hours. No complaints here. :)

Moon Flavor 05-19-2009 01:48 PM

I hate walgreens they opened up 2 in my town last year which is only like a 5 mile radius to begin with and both opened across the street from pre-existing pharmacies

Good thing we have so many places for kids to get their pills from hoo boy

Jev 05-19-2009 01:59 PM

I work 10 hours a week and get paid craploads for the small amount of work I do.

Nostalgia 05-19-2009 02:49 PM

walgreens is elite. that place smells absolutely amazing

Jaundice 05-19-2009 02:50 PM

In a couple of weeks I'm about to start this temporary job for the summer

Setting up hoses and sprinklers 9-5 at an apartment building. No complaints based on the general concept, we'll have to see how much it actually sucks

Jev 05-19-2009 02:51 PM

Sounds like one of the worst jobs ever.

Nostalgia 05-19-2009 02:52 PM

Pretty sure I have a job lined up, but I think I'll have my options open because I'll be done with school and stuff. Pretty excited to work full time and have lots of spending money.

I feel like **** getting money from my dad.

Deth 05-19-2009 03:02 PM

No job for me over summer. I would like one, but it's awkward spending summer in two places and likely going away a few times too.

TimJim 05-19-2009 03:03 PM

i always do since the more i get from my parents the less theyll have for the house payment

TimJim 05-19-2009 03:04 PM

do you go home to england over the summer, deth?

Deth 05-19-2009 03:08 PM

I've been here over 11 years now, so idk whether it can really be regarded as home now. We've been back like 7 times in that span, usually for about 3 weeks, but it's so expensive.

Jev 05-19-2009 03:08 PM

Whereabouts in England you go?

TimJim 05-19-2009 03:10 PM
walgreens is elite. that place smells absolutely amazing
Deth 05-19-2009 03:16 PM

We moved here for my dad's job. He went to South America a lot so they relocated us here so he could go more often, cheaper etc. Supposed to just be here for 2 years, but **** happens.

TimJim 05-19-2009 03:17 PM

ugh what happened?
i miss home alot :( this place sucks

Deth 05-19-2009 03:23 PM

well the place my dad worked in England shut down like 4 months before we were supposed to go back, so he had no job there. Decided to stay here with a sure thing. Stayed around a few years, parents wanted me to get through high school here, then that turned into college, dad died in a motorcycle accident, sister started high school, lost any real reason to go home.

Kinda sucks, but it just evolved into what it is. As it stands my green card runs out in 2012, I have no clue what I'm going to do.

Niflheim II 05-19-2009 03:24 PM

world ends then anyways dude, makes the decision easier

Deth 05-19-2009 03:25 PM

yeah srsly, just a case of finding the best place to loot stuff while I can

TimJim 05-19-2009 03:29 PM

Tyler 05-19-2009 03:33 PM

It's okay Deth that's when the world is going to end.

I've been transcribing this interview since, like, 330 and I've only done the first 11 minutes. Kill me.

Niflheim II 05-19-2009 03:35 PM

youre late on that joke cocaine

Tyler 05-19-2009 03:41 PM

yeah i didnt have the energy to scroll up I just saw deth's message in tim jims quote

Deth 05-19-2009 03:43 PM

are there programs that will do transcribing?

TimJim 05-19-2009 03:43 PM

yes but they are v. expensive

Room13 05-19-2009 03:47 PM

expensive

Tyler 05-19-2009 03:50 PM

and they tend to not be very good anyways

there's a few things i cant make out though, devin townsend talks surprisingly fast when he gets going and **** unelite cell phone reception

Moon Flavor 05-19-2009 03:51 PM

Gangrene 05-19-2009 04:55 PM

Angmar 05-19-2009 04:59 PM

Listening to the new Mastodon.

The first song is actually pretty sweet.

SKUDstorm 05-19-2009 04:59 PM

Ventriloquist 05-19-2009 05:06 PM

The drummer is singing the intro, he has a great voice (compared to the bassist). Love that track and The Czar.

pate 05-19-2009 05:10 PM

Album rules.

Room13 05-19-2009 05:28 PM

yeah hated it at first but love it now

oblivion rules so hard, dailor should sing more

Angmar 05-19-2009 05:39 PM

Yeah I had to listen to it again after The Czar (which also ruled).

Moon Flavor 05-19-2009 06:39 PM

probably gonna get the new mastodon I've heard from a friend (who knows little about music mind you) that it kind of has more of a classic rock undertone is this true?

pate 05-19-2009 06:43 PM

More like classic prog.

Moon Flavor 05-19-2009 06:44 PM
More like classic prog.
