Bukowski 06-10-2006 05:27 PM

The Stooges - Raw Power
The Stooges - s/t
Morphine - Cure For Pain
I've never heard the Swing Kids. Are they like Pearson's other bands or are they more old school punk?
They're quite similar to The Locust (the only other band of his I've heard), but a little more geared towards more normal punk/hardcore. Only a little though. It's good sh'it.

myiaa 06-10-2006 06:05 PM

Khonnor - Handwriting

so good and chilled out for hot summer days when I can't be arsed to move.

Glitterati 06-10-2006 06:41 PM

The Aquabats - The Fury Of The Aquabats!

Yeah, it's utterly retarded fun, but it's still fun nonetheless.

BillCosby 06-10-2006 06:56 PM

Prurient, you don't like Cursive in general, right? Because I really like the album so far.

prurient 06-10-2006 06:59 PM

I used to LOVE Cursive. Domestica was my favorite album for a while, and I thought Burst & Bloom was excellent. I still do, actually, and Domestica still means a lot to me. So do their other albums. The Ugly Organ was good, I guess. Happy Hollow isn't.

BillCosby 06-10-2006 07:06 PM

Hm. I can see why someone wouldn't neccessarily like it, but I haven't heard anything so far that would incite passionate dislike.

Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates is the best ballad of all time.

pixiesfanyo 06-10-2006 08:53 PM

Cursive - Such Blinding Stars for Starving Eyes

Yum.

Well_Respected_Man 06-10-2006 09:51 PM

Aphex Twin is a mighty fine catalyst for a newfound intrest in electronia.

Daniel! 06-10-2006 10:12 PM

Mad Professor and Lee "Scratch" Perry - Dub Take the Voodoo Out of Reggae
This is the most trippy dub album I've ever heard.

fuzz_never_sleeps 06-10-2006 10:19 PM

Green River - Dry as a Bone/Rehab Doll
and a song from Melvins called Roadbull. YOU SQUAARE!!
just got out from depression because of so much Nirvana

fuzz_never_sleeps 06-10-2006 10:21 PM

oh and the last one from Built to Spill, You in Reverse i don't know what is he called, but the guy that plays and sings there is up to some good guitar playing.

pixiesfanyo 06-10-2006 11:10 PM

Comets on Fire - Avatar

This is great, great stuff.

I could listen to Let Me Watch by MF Doom over and over.

prurient 06-11-2006 12:43 AM

I couldn't get into You In Reverse. I tried giving it another spin, but I couldn't go through with it. I became physically ill.

Jacaranda 06-11-2006 01:37 AM

New Order - Substance

Kind of a stupid question seeing as you don't seem to like anything, but (just for interest's sake) could you name say 10 bands that you dig? Be they favourites, currents whatever, just roll with it.

Go on, I dare ya.
I could listen to Let Me Watch by MF Doom over and over.
Isn't that song under the Viktor Vaughan persona, or is there a version I havn't heard? Either way it's a great tune.

Yea thats the one. Its the one where he trades verses with a female MC.

Kyle 06-11-2006 08:12 AM
Yea thats the one. Its the one where he trades verses with a female MC.
Yeah, that's such a good song. My favorite off the album, in fact.

"I'd rather masturbate than fuck with Vick Vaughan"
"let me watch"

haha

Steel Pulse have unseated Burning Spear and are threatening Bob Marley & The Wailers as the dominant reggae group in my life.

Lets Go Bowling - Freeway Lanes

An excellent album. Spy Market is amazing.

Zappa 06-11-2006 10:39 AM

Everyone on this website just makes bands up.

Glitterati 06-11-2006 11:17 AM

The Faint - Danse Macabre

Haven't listened to this in like a year. Still good, though it gets a little repetitive at times. Think The Cure/New Order/Depeche Mode/Soft Cell with a truckload of synthesizers.

pppoe 06-11-2006 12:12 PM

I like to make up band names.

Too bad Fresno is 2 hours from here.

Kyle 06-11-2006 03:37 PM

I've been digging The Wallpapers recently, I don't really like their first album, but this new release has a very positive vibe.

/made up band

The Freudian Freak-Folk Allstars

sr800bkBassist 06-11-2006 03:53 PM

currently revisiting my obsession with "Acrobatic Tenement" by ATDI.
sooooo good. i hated it at first when i bought it. HATED it. but then i actually took note of how amazing it was. so raw yet poppy. best ATDI CD without a doubt.

pppoe 06-11-2006 03:56 PM

More like Acrobatic Homosex.

YDload 06-11-2006 03:58 PM

I didn't like it much at first either (except Ebroglio) but then I got obsessed with Ticklish and now it's probably my second-favorite song of theirs (behind 198d). Not to mention Star Slight, which is like iPod commercial music before its time.

The Jungler 06-11-2006 03:59 PM

Midlake is really ****ing amazing, I can't stop listening to them these days.

ATM 06-11-2006 04:03 PM
