Ok I also just found this FoxyTunes add on for firefox (or IE if you're into that) and it lets you control your media player, no matter which one you use, from your browser and it shows what you're listening to and has lots of other nifty little things that. It also asked me if I wanted to insert my "now listening" thingy, which you'll see below.

it would be good if it didn't require like 100 000 libraries that no Gentoo user would ever even think of installing. FireFM on the other hand, is good. it's like the Last.Fm Radio, only in the FX status bar. you can just choose the radio and press play. you can even have it automatically start playing upon FX start.
