Don't know where to start, best to see the pictures.

Hanger at the back (roof lifts up), the tall observation tower, big command center painted brown, brown hidey hole, the black cave are all made by my husband using MDF boards and paper machee. The doggy trees were made by his as well. Others were bought over time.

The large jet fighter has one loose wing tip so it is glued stiff while the other wing tip can go up and down. Tank, jeep, helicopers are good. There are injured soldiers and some torn wires, afterall, it is a battle...

The bullets in the front are real size plastic ones bought in the UK. Green box is full of tiny ground soldiers. There are lots of amunitions, boxes, explosion barrels, radio transmission backpacks, guns, sand bags, bullet proof vests etc., too professional for me to name.

I have military clothing listed separately. You've got to do it properly.

Joel I demand you purchase that.

Convectuoso 05-29-2010 01:38 AM

Idk man. I'd have to buy the camo as well. I have to do it properly.

If you spot me the cash maybe. You can swim over to my crib. I have a heatpump in my room. It's mighty cosy.

Well, I had an awesome time at the show. They played at a library.

The crowd didn't seem overly aggressive, but there was moshing throughout the whole show. They weren't being incited to go nuts by the band either.

Show was a ton of fun, I want to see them again. Good thing they're from Toronto.

Decent. Most certainly decent.

Being that I'm in BC and always financially strapped when the band decides to play Edmonton (closest of the Van/Calgary/Edmonton trifecta), I always miss their shows. and I went to Coachella in '08 only to find out they were playing in '09... but hey. That was a good show all in all anyways. Either way, probably moving back East this winter, so my time will come. YEAH!

... anyways. Being that it was a library show, did Damian manage to stay clothed the entire time?

His shirt was off by the third or fourth song.

"I'm not the first person to be topless in this library, with all the crazy homeless people walking around, but I'm the first guy to be topless without being asked to leave immediately."

And he had his kid there, brought the kid up on stage. It was funny and cute.
Deltron 3030 is the shit.

Del kills all the raps, Dan The Automator and Kid Koala kill the rest. Such badassery.
Deltron is cool, but sometimes his beats and rhymes are just straight WHACK and choppy. Same with MF Doom. I like 'em, though, but in small, reasonable doses.

I've been out of Shadow of the Colossus for a bit. Went back to it today, and I'm not as impressed as I once was with it. I'm up to the thirteenth one now. IDK, it's not keeping my interest like it did before. I'll still finish it, but I highly doubt I'll go back for the time attacks/hard mode/extra items anytime soon. Urge to replay FFVII for the umpteenth time however, is rising.

Isn't that the game where you fight the giants? I liked that game a lot, but it can get a bit repetitive and boring after a while.

I'm a generic NES/SNES platform game. Give me a game with an algorithm, like Super Mario: the Lost Levels, and I'll make some magic happen!

I'm tempted to go back to 8 or 9 atm. I have a save file of 9 on my PS1 memory card thats at like disc 3 and power lvled way beyond the storyline but AFAIK I can't transfer it to my PS3 :upset:

If you don't like Jeff Buckley, why not?

Strictly curious, half serious question (for obvious reasons), but I am spinning this guy's stuff like crazy lately. I've been a fan for a while, but recently, his stuff has just been sticking with me all day. Anyone else a big fan?

Convectuoso 06-01-2010 12:58 AM

Huge fan. Have everything he ever released; CD's,DVD's, etc (obviously including all the posthumous releases). Half way through his biography. His Telecaster is my dream guitar.

Basically he's amazing and he died too soon etc.

gaslight 06-01-2010 02:41 AM

Jeff Buckley was pretty cool. I don't think he ever got to the point of realising his potential but he left behind some beautiful work.

FunkMetalBass 06-01-2010 10:22 AM

So, should I build a 2x12 cab, or just buy one? I'm not looking to spend too much money on it, but I don't want a complete P.O.S.

suggestions?

gaslight 06-01-2010 10:31 AM

I really like my Epifani UL212, sounds pretty beaut with my head.

It's the only 212 I've ever owned though so I can't compare it against an Aguilar DB212 which I'm really curious to hear the AG500 paired with.

Spaceman Spiff 06-01-2010 10:33 AM

I wrote this song the other day. The main part is in one bar of 7/4 and two bars of 5/4. It's pretty sweet.

This other part is three bars of 5/8 and then one bar of 4/4.

I'm pairing an Ampeg BA500 head with it. (speaking of which, that should be coming out of the shop soon...)

I've pretty much already accepted the fact that I will be using some Eminence 3012LF drivers (and after selling some more gear, I can afford them), but I'm not 100% sure that I will be able to build the cab all that well. I'm looking at the fEarful 2x12 design for it.

I've also been curious about the DB212. Didn't fatbandit have one of those?

No. I GAS'd all over a GS412 for a long time though.

I've owned two Schroeder 1212Ls though, and I like them. I feel they might not be bottomy enough for you though. However, that's a limitation of a 2x12 - you can't expect it to have all that bottom at high volume. HOWEVER... stick a 50Hz filter before your amp/in your effects loop, and it makes some magic happen IMO :)

I could duck down to this bass shop in the city and try out the DB212 I'm pretty sure, it's just a bit of a drive that I can't really be bothered with ever.

I'm going to need to take my UL212 in soon actually, it's producing some funny noises when played through at high volume.

fatbandit 06-01-2010 05:09 PM

thinking about starting a band with my guitarist and our mate making kind of heavy-ish music crossed with stuff like venetian snares. could be pretty amazing.

It's really going to be for small gig/home practice use. I am putting a Rolls SX21 crossover in my pedalboard, so with a few minor adjustments, I should be all set up to completely eliminate the sub-50Hz frequencies. :)

I've actually considered just building a HPF set at 50Hz. The wiring for it is ridiculously easy.

Jake=Suck 06-01-2010 07:18 PM

I havent been here in ages, whats happening in the world of bass.

FunkMetalBass 06-02-2010 12:26 PM

Nothing. Not here, at least.

BTW, does anybody want to buy copious amounts of random strings (some new; some used, but cleaned in denatured alcohol) on the cheap?

fatbandit 06-02-2010 02:43 PM

I went to Matamp today. Turns out the reason I can't have a balanced DI or a buffered effects loop is because there is physically no room on the chassis to mount them. The GT200 is based almost entirely off the old 300 series Matamp used to make like 30 years ago or something, where bass players didn't want any of that stuff. Apparently the newer models of GT200 have been rearranged to make room for things like that, but there's nothing that can be done about mine.

Call me stupid, but I'm really considering selling mine at a slight loss and buying a new one :p

You're asking for things that require very little space - I'm sure there's room to do it, it's just a matter of attaching things to weird places.

Can you take a pic of the inside of your Matamp? I'm curious.
