Iv'e been 'digging' Help She Can't Swim's latest single - Midnight Garden
Miracle Chosuke - The 7/8 Wonders Of The World Cursive - Domestica Aphex Twin - Richard D James Album and Explosions In The Sky - How Strange Innocence And Br3ad Man you msised out Sometimes and Only Shallow two of the best tracks on the album. |
Where did I miss this? I'm confused. "Sometimes" owns anyway but "Only Shallow" is inferior to a lot of the other songs on the album.
|
Matisyahu - Live At Stubbs - I love this album so much. King Without A Crown is so awesome!
|
90 Day Men - Panda Park
Thelonious Monk - Brilliant Corners |
I'd give my left nut to see him live. That beatbox song on LAS is incredible. I've heard he puts on quite a show.
Yeah, he's pretty incredible. It was only really chance that I noticed tickets on sale at a ticket site I go on; it wasn't advertised on any of his websites. Great show though, great beatbox section, and I spoke to the bassist after who gave me a setlist :).
Listening to Shake Off The Dust right now, I much prefer it to Youth. Not sure how I rate it against Live At Stubbs though. |
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention
Seriously, it's been over a year since I last listened to Uncle Meat, Burnt Weenie Sandwhich and Weasels Ripped my Flesh. I'm enjoying this now more than ever. |
digging Matisyahu - Youth
Goddamn I need to see him live.
audrey tautou
aka my future wife |
^ she's nasty.
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders The production/beats on this album are so fine. |
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders[/I
Great album, I should probably listen to this more.
|
Kieran Hebden & Steve Reid - The Exchange Session Vol. 1
Now The Exchange Session Vol. 2. This is the better of the two, a little more action, and a considerable amount more of seemingly conscious interplay between the players. |
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
My mother and I have probably purchased this album about six times. I got tired of losing it and having it stolen, so I downloaded it. :( |
Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts Of The Great Highway
The Cars - Greatest Hits |
very good call.
It's been growing on me. I'm not sure whether I like it more than RHP. |
state route 522
i posted a sick vid of these guys a few pages back. |
The Strokes - First Impressions of Earth
|
MEAT PUPPETS REUNITED
sweet! hopefully they'll be good again |
Scarface - The Diary
oh man what a good album. Scarface has one of the coolest voices in rap.
The Diary is sick as hell. Definitely one of the best hip hop/rap albums ever. |
I was thinking it'd be kind of a disposable but fun album, but I'm definitely leaning towards agreeing with you. Almost every track is awesome.
I've heard a couple of songs from other albums and I have The Fix (which is watered down R&B which isn't really my thing) and none of them even touch anything off The Diary. The group he was in before he went 'solo' (The Geto Boys) are good stuff too, pretty violent, but still good. Just put on Slowdive - Souvlaki - I'm starting to like this more on repeated listens. Glad I gave it another chance. |
Band Of Bees are awesome.
|
^ she's nasty.
in bed OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm still on an Against Me! kick. |
MEAT PUPPETS REUNITED
sweet! hopefully they'll be good again
This is like two weeks old. But yeah it shall be good. |
Detachment Kit - Of This Blood.
I like it. |
This is like two weeks old.
But yeah it shall be good.
i didn't realize final fantasy right now but i'm kinda itchign to put on jawbreaker after reading dmd's posts |
The Rolling Stones - Aftermath
Danielson - Ships ^ Not exactly digging this too much. It sounds like Architecture in Helsinki molesting the Decemberists with the aid of a kids choir. I enjoy the expansiveness of many of the tracks, but the vocals and the general high-pitch of it all can grate on one's nerves over time. |
in bed OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'm still on an Against Me! kick.
they've got to be my least favorite folk-punk band. not even really folk-punk anymore though. |
Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted
Modest Mouse - This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About |
definitely joy division right now.
disorder love will tear us apart dead souls days of the lord diiggin it |
^agreed^
Diggage: Cursive - The Ugly Organ The Drips - The Drips(Bronx fans will love this) Comets on Fire - Blue Cathedral |
they've got to be my least favorite folk-punk band. not even really folk-punk anymore though.
Why you gotta talk shit on everything, homie? I'm diggin' Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra & Wires on Fire. |
they've got to be my least favorite folk-punk band. not even really folk-punk anymore though.
Stoopidest (sic) thing I've ever read. |
Why you gotta talk shit on everything, homie?
I'm diggin' Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra & Wires on Fire.
i have a problem with agreeing. |
The Knife - Silent Shout
When I first listened to this I didn't enjoy it in the least. It felt awkward and overly eccentric. But now, listening to it more and more, I've grown to appreciate the atmosphere and the sheer variety of sounds the group creates. Surprisingly, all of them are successful. Growing into one of my favorites from this year. |
Anathallo - Floating World
The Rolling Stones - Aftermath Danielson - Ships ^ Not exactly digging this too much. It doesn't seem grating at all to me for some reason, I know it should. |
Detachment Kit - Of This Blood.
I like it.
This new? I have one of their albums (something about asilent army?) and it's kinda cool. |
The soundtrack to my upcoming first amateur attempt at a little short film... I keep playing it to help plan the timing and shots and such.
Braniac - Pussyfootin' String Tribute to Slayer - War Ensemble Cake - The Distance Mark Mothersbaugh - Ping Island (Life Aquatic soundtrack) Fantomas - The Omen (Ave Satani) The Unicorns - Les Os Tom Waits - Anywhere I Lay My Head 'Tis to be a poignant tale of a little pirate-skull-shaped piggy bank coming to life, escaping the house, riding a bike, dancing in competition vs. the Cowboy Ninja, fighting and brutally slaying the Cowboy Ninja, and eventually becoming distraught and committing suicide. Part stop motion, part live, and one intense "animated" scene where I videotape a bunch of ghetto poorly-drawn crayon-on-paper semi-anime-ish pictures with dramatically moving camera shots... It will be epic.
Comets on Fire - Blue Cathedral
Mmmm, that sounds nice right about now, I'mma put it in. I haven't spun it in ages man. |
^agreed^
Diggage: Cursive - The Ugly Organ The Drips - The Drips(Bronx fans will love this) Comets on Fire - Blue Cathedral
I'm gonna have to check this out. On the way to work: Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind Method Man & Redman - Blackout! Plus a few Matisyahu songs. I so need to see him live. |
Your Heart Breaks: Awesome low-fi folky pop, like Michael Jordan Touchdown Pass but with female vocals. There are some songs here.
Lots of catchy pop-punk: The Copyrights, Radon, Visqueen, The Modern Machines, The Marked Men etc Jumbo Shrimp: Great post-DK surf instrumentals from East Bay Ray and Klaus Flouride. |
My last.fm player just came up with a live version of "Back of a Car" by Big Star which is even better than the studio version. What a great band, completely ahead of their time.
I've got Radio City and #1 Record and I just don't see what's so good about either. I should probably give them another chance. I've pretty much been listening to Diary and Surfer Rosa, they're both amazing. Been listening to a bit of Fugazi as well. |
Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind
