It's A minor I think. Though it might be in D minor and just start on the Dominant.
I go on Opeth binges but I've never been a fanboy really. |
I plan to learn and record Ending Credits tonight. It will be all acoustic and without drums or bass, but I think it will be an ambitious goal to get it down in one night, even if it is incredibly easy.
|
The Twilight is My Robe is my favorite song on Orchid and is actually the first point where I start to dig the album alot.... The names on this album and Morningrise are so powerful.
|
On a related note, does anyone one the chords/stuff at the beginning of "harvest"? I hear a chord or something pretty similar to E major, but it's... not E major. And I don't have a lot of time to figure out because I'm lazy.
It's just an Em strumming all the strings, and then you add in F# on the low E (2nd fret), then its just these two as well D 4 5 A 5 7 Dunno what those kinds of chords are called. |

That would be cool to hear, post it on this thread whenever you get a chance. Is anyone in a band that has dared to cover an Opeth song? |
So being bad is good? I just don't understand what you're getting out of this.
Wooahhhhh woah woah. Are you saying that their earlier albums were bad? |
I'm seeing Opeth tomorrow!! Awesome!!
Mmm, so am I (I think you may have been at the Rave a few of the times I have, actually). You might spot me, I'll be the long-haired kid with the Meshuggah "I" shirt on, closely followed by drunk/high people I really don't want to bring with. I'm still trying to convince other people to go. I'm psyched, can't wait for a great concert, though I'm not in the best condition so I may opt to move to the balcony right above the stage. The setlists I've seen for Opeth and DT are awesome. |
Opeth tonight for me too. I can't wait.

Yes they are. I like playing The Twilight Is My Robe on guitar, it's a great song to just jam out. \m/ -_- \m/ |
I've wanted to learn that song for a long time now. Except there are no powertabs for it.
I have to wait to get guitarpro... |
^ Just download the demo of it, and use it forever, like me. :)
|
My freind will give me the real version on cd with the code and all...no idea how he got it though.
|
The internet is quiet vast in a filesharing context.
yep. :D On a related note, I was thinkingabout painting the cover from Morningrise for my art class, but the shadows and overall drawing were going to be a bitch to draw. Plus my teacher thinks it's too gothic. I'll have to go with Dali. The artist, not his art. |
If they play Karma at the concert tomorrow, I'm gonna snap. I so wanna mosh to the outro.
|
I'm still hoping for a surprise BWP and Face Of Melinda... not looking good though. :upset:
|
I'd like to see them play Blackwater Park and maybe even Face of Melinda, but I'd love to see them play Karma live. That song is so lethal...
|

|
Damn Vehicle troubles....I WANTED TO GO SO BAD!!! I hope my buddy doesnt go to it so he doesnt brag to me. i know he would.

I don't think they ever play those songs live, do they? Anyways, if I had to hear one song off of Still Life I would pick "The Moor". |
^ Ofcourse they do. They did the last North American tour in the fall. Sometimes The Moor to.
|
Serenity Painted death > the moor for live excitement.
Anyhow, Karma should be an interesting listen. Or that little solo in "By the pain I see in others". Yeah well. That little solo. |
BWP was played all throughout the NA 1st leg as the closing song, and then they'd come back and do Demon as the encore. They switched up Face of Melinda and The Moor, I believe it was (I got FoM in Philly)
|
Oh god that was an amazing setlist, every song captivated me (despite my stomach condition causing me to almost pass out). As far as I know, everything was spot-on, and they were just as tight as they were in the DVD. Mikael's humor was great, he really had the crowd going ("**** FLOWERS?"). I think he made us say "I like meatballs" and "I like to suck my ****" or something like that. Really refreshing after getting flipped off repeatedly by DevilDriver.
The crowd wasn't too bad either, I just had to fight a little bit to stay in place. One good thing DD did was start that stupid movement during their last song that allowed me to push through about 30 feet or so to the fifth row of bodies, otherwise DD was kind of annoying (someone I brought with said he didn't like DT but loved DD....I didn't say a word, just drove a little faster). DT did play a short set though, so I was a little disappointed. I was going to shake their hands but I figured they didn't want to be bothered, especially with all the chicks around them. One thing I noticed is that a lot of people will band together to stop or remove somebody from the crowd that acts like a fool. One guy almost started a fight with me until people swarmed around him. |

That sounds pretty damn epic, even for Opeth's standards. :) |

^It was the same as the other shows, I talked to someone else that went.
|
Do you know the setlist?
The setlist is different for every show I think. I was at the same show Blizzink was at. I'll post my review of it later tonight. |
