Their ones are just made of wool though.

Hahaha

It's like a Flight of the Conchords situation every time I see one of you Aussies or New Zealanders make a crack at the other.

Spaceman Spiff 05-20-2010 10:51 AM

I've been using a bunch of volume swells in my playing lately. They're pretty sweet.

I just played through a Roland Cube 30 bass amp. It had been a while since I had, and I forgot just how ****ing sweet those amps really are.

I think I'm going to get one.

They are a great bang for the buck if you're looking for a versatile combo.

I'm talking to Skip from Circle K Strings. It's a shame that 8-string sets cost $96 after shipping, because he sounds pretty certain that his strings will help me solve my woes. (And I'm pretty certain that, after I get new pickups it will as well)

Spaceman Spiff 05-21-2010 09:59 AM

Why does Soulja Boy sound so tired on his new song?

FunkMetalBass 05-21-2010 10:30 AM
Why does Soulja Boy sound so tired on his new song?
He recorded it in his sleep. Don't you read the album liner notes?

Spaceman Spiff 05-21-2010 10:44 AM

No. I don't buy Soulja Boy albums.

But it does sound like he just woke up and his superiors put him right to work.

Turn my swag oooooooooooonnn
I'm gettin' monaaaaaaaaaaaayyy
Take a look in the mirror, say wassup

Anybody know of any cheap, lightweight SUV/truck ramps? I'm about to pull the trigger on a 10-space rack unit so that I don't have to carry two 4-space racks, but I will surely pull a muscle moving that thing around.

Spaceman Spiff 05-21-2010 10:55 AM

I can't help you.

I'm getting my tax refund real soon. Not a huge amount, but a bit over $500. I'm strongly considering finally buying my pro-styly amp with it. Probably the Twin Reverb. I can pick up a used one for 600-700.

Just build one...

Plywood+2x+woodglue/screws+holes=cheap, light ramp.

OR, just get two peices of 6-8"ish wide lumber and cut it so that it sits flush to the ground and will stay in the bed/trunk/whatever.

You can even be classy and tack some carpet on them!

This I have considered. I'll need to come up with a good design to allow it to curve over my bumper a bit. I drive an SUV and a straight ramp wont entirely do it.

gaslight 05-21-2010 06:46 PM

Maybe you'd like one of those Gruv Gear carts.

Spaceman Spiff 05-22-2010 10:34 AM

Last night my band was having this really fun jam. I was mimicking everything that the drummer was doing rhythmically. It was a lot of fun (and difficult, but certainly not frustrating) just watching him and following all of his hits, pausing with him, etc.

fatbandit 05-22-2010 11:43 AM

stupid colossi, hah. this game grows increasingly frustrating ;<

Convectuoso 05-22-2010 04:46 PM

I've been trying to find that SOTC in the preowned sections of all the major gaming shops here and it's nowhere to be found :(

Almost finished FFXIII. Kinda disappointed with the amount of content. It's like I've finished the story line, and then you just run around killing certain monsters as missions (about 65 or so missions). The last boss is a joke as well, it's the worse last boss:hardest boss in the game ratio I've ever seen.

It shouldn't be too hard. Just cut the board at the end and angle it so that it goes into the car level with the angle right after the end, and glue something downward to hold it in inside the car or tabs that fit down in the bumper or folding legs to hold it up.

Probably will want to cover the bottom with carpet or padding or something to keep them bumpers looking nice.

Keep looking man, it's worth it. I had to pay full price for it on eBay for a first hand copy well after it had been released. I lucked out with Ico though, I got a special edition copy second-hand for $10 at EB.

Convectuoso 05-22-2010 08:08 PM

Yeah I've always wanted to play it since I saw Reign Over Me and Adam Sandler spent most of his day playing it.

Wait, Gaslight, you play video games? Aren't you a little too mature for that :p

I've been rocking Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 atm. It's actually pretty fun. I got a lolworthy 40 under par on a four day tournament today. But sometimes you can do very horribly, so it requires a little skill.

Anyone played Sonic Unleashed? It's sitting there waiting for me to play but I can't seem to find the inspiration for it.

blacklungfever 05-22-2010 08:55 PM

hey guys

go listen to my band

Videogames are art man, as much as movies, books and music.

Who ever said I was too mature for anything?

Convectuoso 05-22-2010 11:59 PM

I agree, they are just as valid as other artforms, I was just playing devils advocate lol.

 I did! I figured you'd be too busy transcribing stuff by ear to take on big stone colossi.

gaslight 05-23-2010 12:16 AM

When I'm not struggling to make money out of music or make any kinds of achievement to do with it, videogames are probably my favourite recreational activity that involves any interactivity from me.

I just got Red Dead Redemption yesterday, I can't wait to have some spare hours to spend on that one.

Convectuoso 05-23-2010 12:33 AM

That looks pretty epic, let me know how it goes?

Yeah video games have kept me going over the years, the Final Fantasy series especially. I think my biggest musical influence is probably Uematsu's works.

I just wish I could afford an Xbox 360 too simply for Halo. Call be a bandwagon rider but that game is highly entertaining when playing with friends online or otherwise.

Yeah, I picked up RDR. Haven't had a lot of time to sink into it yet, but it's pretty sweet so far.

gaslight 05-23-2010 06:18 AM

I did the first few little missions then spent ages hunting animals, explored a bit, then shot a guy who was shooting a guy, had to shoot some more guys, got shot by even more guys, decided not to save.

BenJammin 05-23-2010 06:21 AM

Haha, yeah. I accidentally shot my horse on one of the first missions. I was trying to line up another shot, and it walked in front of me. That was shortly before I discovered that I could skin horses, too.

gaslight 05-23-2010 06:23 AM

Haha.

My conscience hasn't let me put a bullet in a horse yet.

I love being evil in games just for a bit though, so I'll probably go on a rampage sooner or later.
