"Search this thread" if you mean just one thread.

Where is that option? I'm blind and don't see it. :upset:

Steerpike 01-26-2006 09:13 AM

Top right of the thread underneath the page numbers.

So I just got back from my first guitar lesson this semester. Got my teacher listening to BOTAR and teaching me the rhythms to their songs. So, needless to say I'm in a good mood.

At the top of the thread, just under page selection and next to Thread tools.

ITT: I am retarded.

Jom 01-26-2006 09:31 AM

Hey, I recognized that Lewis Black sketch! It's when he's talking about the weather, right? With Al Roker being two feet off and the other meteorologist going "Bouncing frogs, bouncing frogs, what can I say? Back to you!"

I posted the same thing in The Pit in that "Valentine's Day is approaching..." thread, except I did the "Sleet grey, snow grey, every day it just gets greyer and greyer. And then I look at my wrists and go, 'Hey, maybe I should slit 'em to see color,'" then made a standard post underneath it.

In typical Pittian fashion, some kid trying to be funny goes, "Remember, across the street not down the road :thumb: (or whatever the hell the real passage is, I forget because I don't remember too many stupid things)."

On the upshot, The Pit keeps people like that out of our community thread.

Don't call me emo :upset:

Thanks, though. Hopefully I'll remember for next time, haha.

Good point.

For those of you who have been wondering where Ali's been, he's been doing just fine. He sent me an e-mail the other day that reads the following:
Andrew W.K's Commandments:

1: Don't Stop Living
2: It's Time To Party
3: Party Hard \m/
4: Party Till You Puke \m/
5: Make Sex
Much like "Thou shalt not" begins pretty much every commandment, "Party" seems to dominate the commandments of Ye Olde Andrew WK.

And, the conversation that followed:
[01:00] Jom: I do appreciate the e-mail, though.
[01:00] Jom: I printed it out and posted it inside my townhouse.
[01:00] Jom: For all to see.
[01:01] munky_magik: you have to be joking
[01:01] Jom: No, actually.
[01:01] Jom: I even posted the Scottish flag underneath it.
[01:01] munky_magik: now you're most definetily lying
[01:02] Jom: heh heh heh
[01:02] munky_magik: tough if you did print it out and stick it around it would be appreciated
[01:02] munky_magik: not jus tby me but by everyone who read it, I'm sure
[01:02] Jom: I'll make flyers and post it on campus.
[01:03] Jom: All over.
[01:03] munky_magik: I really hope you do
[01:03] munky_magik: if you post your name at the bottom you'll be a legend
[01:04] Jom: Actually, I'll sign it "Ali [his last name]"
[01:04] munky_magik: awww...that'd be crazy and/or wierd
[01:04] Jom: I'll post your e-mail address too :)
[01:05] Jom: And say that you're Scottish.
[01:05] munky_magik: go for it, please
[01:05] munky_magik: I'd love to see the responses I'd get
So, he's alive and well and not dead, just so you know.

kurrpt 01-26-2006 10:21 AM

ill take that as a joke JOM :D

i just remember cause its HOW to do it correctly

Permanent Solution 01-26-2006 11:09 AM
Bobo did it first, if it makes you feel better. :p

I also remember the time where you were "really tired" and said that once you learned Illmatic's name was Ray, you would equate him with Ray Charles as an easy way to remember that he was black. :p

It always strikes me how incredibly different the makeup and tone of the thread was back then, when Bartender, Med, Riva, Vince, munky, Bobo, and a bunch of other older users were the main regs.
Oh...welll I was quite the trendy user...so maybe. Actually about 15 minutes after I read that I recalled that I might have actually done so at some point but was too lazy to go back and edit.

Hahaha...I remember doing that. Good system to be sure ;) But don't make fun of my tired posts...I'm the equivalent of drunk for me when I'm really tired :-\

Yesss...and I was quite different myself heh. That thread was a lot of fun. Good memories.

Slow it seems. Not much is going on around here. Maybe the weather has everyone down.

Jev 01-26-2006 11:49 AM

My day was okay. I took a day off school again because I'm still pretty ill. Spent most of the day on here. Very slow today.

GenuineImitation 01-26-2006 11:49 AM

The weather is pretty nice here. A little cold, but nice none the less.

I have a long day of researching college scholarships. Any advice from college students?

PinkFreud 01-26-2006 11:52 AM

everyone's still in school. that's why she be slow.

i didn't get any scholarships... i couldve if i'd kept my gpa higher but i didnt. my act score and the fact that im asian would have paid a hefty amount.

Steerpike 01-26-2006 11:53 AM

Lucky bastard with your nice weather. The radiators in my house just kicked on for the first time in three days and they're rather ineffectual against the bitter cold. I swear, my room is actually colder right now than the outside... I'm gonna turn the thermostat up another couple degrees and see if that helps.

GenuineImitation 01-26-2006 11:54 AM

I need to apply to some so I can get financial aid from many of the schools I applied to. I dont know where to start. Google just seems to be giving me crappy sites that I dont trust.

Its cold here to, but not as cold as it should be. Plus its sunny. The way I am combating the cold is with hot chocolate and a nice robe.

Jev 01-26-2006 11:56 AM
I swear, my room is actually colder right now than the outside...
My bedroom used to be like that. I used to have to Gaffa tape up the windows so no air could get through.

GenuineImitation 01-26-2006 11:56 AM

I actually love it when my room is like an ice box. I always get a good night sleep.

Bartender 01-26-2006 11:57 AM

EDIT: I typed this V before reading that^.

I don't mind being cold. I don't have my heating turned on (never have, in fact), and I generally have my window open. It just makes going to bed even better.

Besides, if it does get really too cold, I can just wrap myself in a blanket.

Amit 01-26-2006 11:59 AM

My dorm room is the perfect temperature. Actually, I'm not wearing a shirt right now :-O

Steerpike 01-26-2006 12:04 PM

The thing is, I can put up with being cold, I just don't like it. And since I have writing assignments to do, it's generally considered unhealthy when your fingers go numb and turn yellow from typing in the cold.

I could see that being a problem.

Bartender 01-26-2006 12:09 PM

Well I've never had my fingers turn yellow :-/

I find I don't work as well when I'm warm and in a warm environment, though. I don't seem to think as well, or else fall asleep.
