are you serious? uhh, can you send it out? it should be off vast oceans.
edit: whatever you do don't judge whw by that, it's a new vocalist and he's pretty mediocre. |
i cant send anything no whatever they sent me is on some locked promo site
|
i didnt think they'd release the album for another few years, someone always has a mental breakdown or something.
pretty excited about it but also am not expecting much with a guy named rain doing vocals. |
ill check what it actually is later

edit: whatever you do don't judge whw by that, it's a new vocalist and he's pretty mediocre.
Really? Everything I've heard regarding him has been positive. I can';t look at YouTube at work but here's a vid from BTL with the new vocalist doing a new song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2vIXV1vAgQ |
I think he sounded pretty bad on the two BTL vids, but it seemed to be more of a "couldn't hear myself" bad instead of a "I suck ****" bad.
|
new Across Tundras leaked :D
|
Jondur: I've never heard his live sessions, I just checked out his BTL vids and they were bad. He sucked on The Drowning Years, but then again a live display of his vocals may not be that accurate.

WHILE HEAVEN WEPT - Vast Oceans Lachrymose
Is what they sent me. Also got HANDFUL OF HATE - You Will Bleed I'll download the While Heaven Wept now, apparently "Audio files for tracks 3 and 4 and for tracks 5 and 6 are combined together in one file to preserve the spirit of the release, which has no pause in between the mentioned songs. |
Never having heard this band before, this is not what I expected. This first song is bordering on power metal. Sounds like Falconer.
Okay, it slowed down. This guy is a pretty good vocalist so far mind you I'm like two minutes into the first 15 minute song. Nice vibrato but a little over-enunciated. Good range but he's done the Hetfield 'HUGH' a few times. I'm liking this. I should have looked into these guys sooner. Keyboards are pretty gay so far but otherwise it's good. |

dude i am so behind i literally just listened to western sky ride for the first time yesterday haha |
Is this band always so grandiose? I mean, this is really, really awesome but I kind of feel like I'm finishing a marathon in slow-mo right now. It's actually kind of motivational sounding and I just picture the guitarists having several fans on their hair at all times.
But yeah really awesome and this is just the first song. |
grandiose music is gay
|
says the former self-appropriated master of 'fiking' metal
|
yeah i definitely ran 'grandiose' music into the ground for myself, never to be enjoyed again
|
This first song is bordering on power metal.
yeah i expected that, their last album was verging towards that as well. im expecting it to be pretty cheesy |

I really like Of Empires Forlorn, it has some powermetalish features to it but I think they pull it off well, really good vocal melodies too.

yeah i didnt think western sky ride was as good as dark songs of the prairie. couple of tracks were excellent, but as a whole it was definitely weaker. |
Get the new one, it's probably as good as Dark Sons of the Prairie
|
will do

Austin, new VOL sample up on the WHW myspace.
New singer is good. |
Yeah, it's not bad. I don't like the riffing in The Furthest Shore that much, it sounds like straight up power metal to me. Vessel has some sweet vocals in it though... it sounds like they just expanded on OEF to me, which isn't that bad of an idea I guess.
|
The Furthest Shore starts off as power metal, but it definitely becomes more 'traditional' as it goes on. It's 15 minutes long, so it definitely switches gears.
And after listening to OEF, this vocalist is a lot better. The album isn't as 'heavy', but OEF wasn't really 'heavy' anyways. |
nd after listening to OEF, this vocalist is a lot better.
Which? Tom Phillips (vocalist on OEF) is one of the best in metal. You needa hear Chapter 1, dude, I'll send it to you. |
