I definately had the best growls out of everyone at the concert I went to as far as I could hear.

There was this one time where this one dude was like growling while Mike was talking and he asked him to do it again so he did. Then he told the crowd to growl and was like "you all sound like little girls".......... "ROOOOOAAAAA"

Dude, at Sounds of the Underground, Corpsegrinder held out the mic when CC was playing to people in the front in different sections asking people to growl, and kept going back and forth, and when he came to where me, and my buddies dan and travis were standing he kept asking us to growl again, it was epic, he after like three times of going back and forth, he's like, "This section is wherethe real metalheads are!" I felt so good.

Humerously the three of us all sing in bands :lol:.

I hear Nevermore has a killer live sound, and from the footage I've seen they sound great. Maybe it was just a bad day.

Yeah, when I saw Nevermore live their sound was fine. They put on a great show.

I thought the vocals were horrible. Jeff was more than amazing. I was right under him too :)

Maybe it was just a bad day when I saw them. I was right in front of Loomis, couldn't hear him at all, couldn't hear Smyth at all, could only hear Warrel in certain spots. I couldn't even hear the drums that much. It was just a big mush.

I heard a Nevermore song or two and didn't like it either. I know that I don't like metal in general so I didn't bother giving them that much of a chance.

yea im not a huge opeth fan mainly because i dont like their overall sound and i got ghost reveries and i think they could loose the screaming, its not a big deal you guys are defensive

But.. those two albums have almost all screaming on them, and he just said he thought they could lose the screaming..

If you don't like the growling, then obviously you won't enjoy every bit of Opeth. if you like clean vocals Damnation is a soft album in all clean vocals. If you do like growling, then Still Life or Blackwater Park would be a good place to start.

I was telling him that because I think the growls in Ghost Reveries suck (that's just me) and he may like the growlings in Morningrise or Orchid.

yea i duno its to like diverse, i duno wat word to use but like it goes from soft melodic stuf to this intense screaming metal and i like both but i dotn think it fits in the same song like that to well

If they lost the growls/screaming they wouldn't even be worth listening to.
