Just a quick question, Are ESP's good guitars? I've heard that they have a bad sound quality but then again so many bands use them.
I think if you get a non LTD one, it sounds decent. All the LTD ones sound like utter crap, though a kid in my jazz band had a LTD one that sounded decent. Yet that one had EMGs in it. |
I'm not familiar with ESP's unfortunately. Actually, there are many brands I'm not familiar with.
|
What guitars have you got PsychoticFlubber?
ESP - KH203 (Kirk Hammett Sig.) Jackson - Warrior WRXT I believe is the model Fender Squier Strat |
I have an LTD. Me gusta.
ESP - KH203 (Kirk Hammett Sig.)

OK people, this is the song that Alexi and Roope solo'd over in Demonstration 2 on Passage to the Reaper which you can find here.
It's from one of Roope's old bands called Waltari and is titled "Move". If you've seen the jam then this will definately be a suprise. :) hxxp://s52.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1Q4KMWPN0OH6N23X3WZSUGJNCJ Change hxxp to http. Man, when they go up to G#, it sounds so powerful!! |
Wtf... it's rap!?!?
Maybe... I can just make believe that was the wrong song. |

No, it's not, since the chords are exactly the same.
I do prefer the "metal" version too but that opera guy singing during that chorus bit is soo amazing to me, especially the last chorus near the end...wow. |

Do you really live in Finland or did you just put that there because COB is from there...? |

He's from the UK. Just like I'm not really from a place called To Ashes. :) |

Finland gets most of the awesome metal. And Finnish is an awesome sounding langauge. I want to move to Finland  |
It confuses me hearing other languages... I have taken French for 5 years in school now, and I still suck at it hahaha. Finland accents are cool, but the language sounds like giberish like every other language to me. I hate hearing Spanish though... that's all anyone speaks here...
|
I was gonna learn some Finnish but I can't really find any beginners guides.
|
Me too.
|
I learnt how to say "Not Good" is finnish from a Nightwish DVD. lol

Did you check out that song I uploaded?
What the hell does musical theory have to do with blowing a shoulder/wrist/elbow out?
That has to do with your picking technique NOT what scales/cords and such you know.
Can you not read right or are trying too look stupid on purpose? When you take lessons learning theory and techinque go hand in hand. Metal rythms are some of the most complex rythms in music. with out knowing some theory you won;t know create your own music. You have to know what you are doing first before you can seperate your self from the pack. Sure you can memorize and regurgitate, but that means nothing. With as fast metal goes, if you do it for long hours at a time using the wrong techinique you around bound to injure yourself.
BTW. My picking technique is just fine.
So you know this with out any knowledge of proper technique. |
Wrong.
For example, Dave Mustaine doesn't know much theory, nor can he read tab, and Megadeth are pretty famous I'd say... |
Wrong.

How would he not be able to read tab? Did you mean standard musical notation or tabs?
|
Tabs. He said so in a Total Guitar inteview.
Tabs. He said so in a Total Guitar inteview.
How is that possible, its not a hard concept. |
How is that possible, its not a hard concept.
I don't think it's that he can't understand them, I think it's just that he never bothered to ever learn them because he never felt the need to. |
Wrong.

Hanger 18, and Holy Wars... the Punishments Due are two great songs for rythm/lead. At least in my opinion. Although, Dave's newest album didn't prove much to me, the old ones certainly did. |

still... Its just mind boggling, you look at and pretty much self explainitory for the most part. |
Well, I have uploaded stuff on the other Board (Pirate Booty's), if you havn't signed up, do it, and go see what I put up on there for everyone. In the meantime, I am going to bed.

A lot of that is innate because you grow up listening to the samethings over and over. When some one strums chords with no knowledeg of theory The usually play the typical I IV V I chord progression, just because its what they have heard for their whole life. |
Why are you denying it, Mustaine is incredible and he knows less theory than the emo fags in my college class.
|

Deny what? I'm telling you how it is. You play what you have heard your whole life. The Pentatonic scale is the most played scale in modern rock history. Of course it will come out in his playing with out hime even knowing what it is. In no way have I taken a dig at his skill. |
