electric wizard, orange goblin, and sleep are really the only good ones. yob is decent at best. clutch and high on fire are both awful. and i dont even remember how masters of reality sound, so i must not have liked them that much.

I was listening to HoF way before I even heard of Terrorizer. You like saviours but don't like High on Fire? Saviours are pretty mediocre stoner rock. They were fine live though.

nothing against matt pikes earlier works, but high on fire just sounds like hes doing a bad imitation of the stuff he used to be a master of

In interviews he even states that with Sleep he just wanted to continue where Sabbath left of in their first 3 albums. Sleep is a lot less original than High on Fire. I love both bands a lot but High on Fire has a lot more of an original sound. It has more aggression, you can see some motorhead and other classic metal sounds, but its a little less bluesy than Sleep.

I listened to both [i]Variations On A Theme[/i] and [i]Pilgrimage[/i] today and enjoyed both.

I think Conference of the Birds is the best tbh. God Is Good seems awesome, I still have to listen to it more.

Yeah I listened to [i]Conference of the Birds[/i] ages back, it was pretty hypnotic. I'll listen to [i]God Is Good[/i] before long.

Cool. Since we are talking about the more mellow side of the stoner spectrum, soon as I discovered them, I haven't stopped listening to Dead Meadow. Feathers is just amazing.

I listened to their s/t a long while back, it was good stuff.

I like the s/t also but Feathers out does it I think. It's not too clean in production but it's not messy sounding like the s/t is sometimes.
