Please critique with anything you want to say. Whether you like my vocals or not I'll take what you say into consideration.

clearvision 07-10-2005 05:14 PM

The double tracking annoyed me in the verse, I'm sorry :(

Your voice sounds very good pitchwise, it just lacks the aggression the song needs. Try to really push through and project your voice, in the chorus you sort of mumble. You may also need ot open your mouth a little more...

I apologise for the harshness, but that's what i picked up on, i thought you were on pitch most of the time, you just need to be clearer and more aggressive...heh you can slate me when i post tomorrow :)

Moses 07-10-2005 05:21 PM

Oh that wasn't harsh at all. I'll definately fix the double tracking in the verse. Also after I finish the song and do touch ups on 46 & 2 I'll probably redo the chorus in this song. Right now it's not too much of a problem. Thanks clearvision you're always my best critic anyway.

Daven 07-10-2005 05:33 PM

IMO opinion clearvision has said it all, but really you need to fix the agresivity

Futuro 07-10-2005 05:38 PM

WTF!?!?!? i missed 2 days and 8 pages.... anynews on lateralus (me cant record anymore) my drumtrack seems to line up pretty darn well over here, im not sure why its off.

denboy 07-10-2005 05:39 PM

Hey moses.. Was it you that suggested that clearvision held his mic away from his mouth to not make it clip?.. Because if you're doing that in the chorus, that would explain why it sounds kind of distant.. I would suggest finding other ways to make it stop clipping.. Unless you like the distant sound

Yeah, it isn't, sorry for causing a needless ruckus!

I did suggest that but I'm not really holding it away.

Faith check out my vocal track up there.

denboy 07-10-2005 05:51 PM

Oh ok, in the chorus it just sort of sounds like that

Its missing something. You're vocals are good. They are hitting the right notes. It just seems that you aren't pushing them hard enough. Try singing louder, first of all. And possibly add a little rasp? I can't think of the right word. Just make them a little more aggressive I guess.

Moses 07-10-2005 06:10 PM

Well it is missing bass.....

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-10-2005 06:40 PM

Okay. I am going to use the whammy effect on my effects processor, and start recording bass. I want more finished crap, and hey, since I have the capabilities of doing so, why not use it? :p Granted, my tone may not sound as gold as Justin's, but hey, some bottom end is better than no bottom end.

I thought they were good enough to be used. . .just be more agressive and perhaps the double tracking on the verse was a lil weird but. . . tis was good

Futuro 07-10-2005 07:18 PM

i might be able to start recording drums again. i recently joined a band, and the bass player has a mixer, and the program cubase. ill have to see if i can record some tracks next time im over there.

New Band = Time away from MX (why my posting has suddenly decreased) :upset:

Moses 07-10-2005 07:27 PM

There was a time where I was in three bands all doing different things in them (plus a girlfriend).

Takes alot of time, but now two of them fell through. So now I have a band and a girlfriend.

denboy 07-10-2005 07:30 PM

I wish I had a band.. Or a girlfriend.. But it seems that both things are impossible to acquire when you're living a crappy place like me

Moses 07-10-2005 07:31 PM

Where do you live ? I live in the ghetto of Milwaukee Wisconsin in America.

Futuro 07-10-2005 07:33 PM

we practice 20+ hours a week. and are going to start playing at top 40 bars. we have already played the Pegasus and Brass mug. hopefully when we stop being lazy we will write some originals, cause top 40 drumming is all pretty bland.

Mr Herb 07-10-2005 07:33 PM

lol am in 2 bands and posibly a thrid one. . .am working on a girlfriend

denboy 07-10-2005 07:34 PM

I live in Denmark.. In a small town where the last bus to a real city drives at 6 pm

Mr Herb 07-10-2005 07:36 PM

 very fun, but would be better if our singer was better. (he has a problem of being very pitchy at times) the rest of us play together really well, and all the guys have nice gear, jobs, and cars (makes getting together much more fun and very easy)
