Iron Bug 06-04-2006 04:09 PM

I've had dreams with Onion Ring fish.

Matt? 06-04-2006 04:11 PM

i used to have the sweetest dreams, my favorite was that i went to this crazy town that was a la "in the night kitchen" by maurice sendack

i'd always end up in this grocery store shaped like a milk bottle.

Brain Toad 06-04-2006 04:11 PM

The dream I had last night consisted of me trying to marry off a bunch of people, it was a continuation of my dream the night before, but I still don't know what the **** was going on.

pixiesfanyo 06-04-2006 04:13 PM

Orcania is ****.

Get the Legend of Zelda for Nes.

That's manly.

I always have 2 reoccuring places in my dreams. One is in a field near where my grandma used to live out in the coutry where i always meet a scarecrow or see him, and the other is in some dirty thrift store place where all they cell is items made of glass and porcelain.

Matt? 06-04-2006 04:14 PM

dude i beat that when i was like eight, i got to the boss and i had no ****in clue so i just shot silver arrows randomly when he dissapeared and somehow i killed him.

awesome game though, i'd say it's on par with OoT

i've been dying to replay it, it was a lot of fun

pixiesfanyo 06-04-2006 04:16 PM

yeah dude.

the best part is once you beat it, you unlock like game two and they switch around everything.

it's the ****.

Matt? 06-04-2006 04:17 PM

i didn't beat the second version, my nes was so s.hitty that even if i did the cartridge blowing technique it still wouldn't work

:(

deadohiosky9 06-04-2006 07:59 PM
hey guys what label if any is the pine on?

i can't find anything on them but they own so much
They are tough, but I'd just stick em with Emo.

cbmartinez 06-04-2006 08:00 PM

He asked what label they're on, not what you'd label them as.

Matt? 06-04-2006 08:01 PM

haha yeah i found out their on alone.. for some reason i couldn't find their website on google but then i found it

AIRIC 06-04-2006 08:02 PM

Reading comprehension you damn southerner.

Matt? 06-04-2006 08:17 PM

and yeah they are sick nasty.

deadohiosky9 06-04-2006 08:28 PM

rofl oops. They own once you are able to get past their singer's nasal voice.

Matt, it bothers me that you don't have an avatar.

Matt? 06-04-2006 08:31 PM

i didn't like having one, i can't decide on good enough album covers to use anyways.

and the nasal voice is my favorite part
I have been meaning to check out the gybe side projects for a while but I just havn't gotten around to it. I have heard that A Silver Mt. Zion kicks much ass.
i really like a silver mt zion. they create some amazing melodies. some of their stuff can be a little repetitive though.

f# a# infinity is the only godspeed album i got into. east hastings is probably my favorite song of that genre. dead flag blues is great too, especially the narration.

deadohiosky9 06-04-2006 10:49 PM

A Silver Mt. Zion are f'ucking awesome. I need to hear more GSYBE though.

that amazes me. until i just read the locked thread, i thought he was joking when he said he had never heard them. i still have a hard time believing it.

i like melancholy stuff in that genre, thats why i like a silver mt zion. if you have similar taste, definitely check out the song "east hastings" by godspeed.

deadohiosky9 06-04-2006 10:57 PM

I shall. I love instrumental stuff.

Honestly, at that time I seriously only heard like 2 songs by them and didn't know all the lyrics. I was just getting into GUTG at that time and those lyrics were really cool.

I'm sorry I wasn't a GUTG expert. I was just getting into them.

Gav, you type amazingly well while drunk.

i can understand that.

its still pretty crazy that both quotes were from the same song though.

That is really weird and makes the song feel a lot more distraught and distant, but so much more full. I love them. :)

Brain Toad 06-04-2006 11:35 PM

The narration is what bugs me about GY!BE

I love the narration. I like gybe most of all post-rock bands because I love EITS but all their songs follow the same structure. Godspeed's do too but not so rigidly and they are a lot more dark than Explosions in the Sky's adorable wholesomeness.

ya, it adds another dimension to the song. the music already conveys the emotion, but the narration gives the dark, epic, abstract story and mental images that blend perfectly with the music. but within the story of despair they include the part that says "and i said, kiss me, you're beautiful, these are truly the last days. you grabbed my hand and we fell into it like a daydream, or a fever." masterful.

Totally dude.

Anyone in here Sonic Youth fans? I am listening to Bad Moon Rising which is obviously experimental as compared to their other stuff, but the shit is freaking me out.

I love it.
