Jupiter's Incense - "The Dawnstar Heat I: Pylons"

Before I break here on the evening
Let a young man speak his mind
We’ve past the point of dour solace
In the nature of our crimes
Against what could have been prevented
The cast of coin could get so far
Cut to the crawling on the morrow
Without the batting of an eye

Cry on, Infidel Omniscient
At my right hand lays mother earth
Let your flock run wild this dream
How the daylight would comfort

Call me caustic and I’ll burn right through your tongue!!!
But in short, I still find joy in haunting you
Now the fisher can’t quite catch the rye
The able-bodied press of your mankind

I refuse to be spoon-fed your lies
When downwind from sacrilege falls, stutter-step aside
Like casting your line in the wind
You’re sure to land sour along the riverbank
Lurking there among the reeds
Is Satan dressed in sheep’s clothing
Should he find your clock still ticking
Remember all you always left behind

Call me caustic and I’ll burn right through your tongue!!!
But in short, I still find joy in haunting you
Now the fisher can’t quite catch the rye
The able-bodied press of your mankind

Soon the Dawning word will realize
What sickness builds inside its walls
Their bibles cannot prize

Retarded Chipple 01-21-2008 11:30 AM

Bah, I haven't properly played my drums for like 2 months cos I've been decorating my drum room.

It's even worse now...I have my drums set up but can't play them cos I'm waiting for carpet and riser! Eek, so close....the tension is killing me!!!

2 month to decorate????

fishbulb 01-21-2008 11:32 AM

Oh, you said 6 meters, i thought you said feet at first.

20 feet is a good amount and 6 meters is more than that right?

6 meters = 19.6850394 feet

Yeah that should be fine.

oliv_da_skinmasher 01-21-2008 11:34 AM

Yeah cool man. I converted it but i thought i'd ask you guys your opinion lol. I'll be buy a whole load of recording gear as soon as i can(next on my list:D)

fishbulb 01-21-2008 11:35 AM

Nice, what mics/mixer are you looking at?

oliv_da_skinmasher 01-21-2008 11:37 AM

AKG D 112
Sennheiser E-604 (x4)
Shure SM 57
Rode NT5 Matched Pair
Tascam US 1641 to plug the direct into my laptop

and record onto cubase

fishbulb 01-21-2008 11:46 AM

That's definitely going to cost you a hell of a lot of money.

What speakers do you have in mind?

oliv_da_skinmasher 01-21-2008 11:51 AM

Well I have a small pa i can run it through, nt great but they're only really for personal use ya know. I'll post recordings on here maybe demos with bands but thats it they dont need to be studio level speakers.

And yeah its gonna be around 1,345 GBP/2,615 USD

Yes lol.

I had to get everything out of the room, strip the old wallpaper, wash the walls down, fill in any cracks with plaster and put up new wallpaper. Keep in mind that I've NEVER wallpapered a wall in my entire life...so that wasn't exactly easy to say the least although I sorta got the hang of it in the end.

I then had to paint 2 coats of paint on the walls, put coving up around the ceiling, paint the coving, ceiling and skirting board.

After that, I ran out of money and had to wait for my dad to give me some. I've now put some shelves up (they're not new, I just painted them to go with the room.) I've now gotta wait for my nice thick felt and rubber underlay, carpet and a riser. Then I'm finally done :)

I did ALL this pretty much by myself. My girlfriend came shopping with me whenever I needed something and helped me wallpaper + construct my desk. My dad obviously helped me with money and random odd jobs. So yeah... 2 months.

I also bought a new computer desk and chair to save space and look awesome :D

Jody LeCompte 01-21-2008 11:58 AM

I've been watching videos of hang drums for like 2 days now.

I love those things.

Dude my dad did a room in 4 days lol

Jody LeCompte 01-21-2008 12:21 PM

When I still did sheet rock I could hang a house in two days with one or two other good guys, but when it comes to completely re-doing rooms it can take a good deal of time.

Just about anything you do has to sit. Just painting can take several days depending on the area. I live in the humidity capital of the United States so you pretty much have to give each coat a day and a half to dry.
