why not? who made the rules in the first place and why are their rules more sound then mine? they're not. so matter what they "rules" are subjective to the person that made them. maybe i dont like the number two and would rather have 1+1=3. it still makes sence, by my standards.
Who made the rules? Whoever invented the whole damn number system and mathematics, that's who. Their rules are more sound than yours because they invented it and the rules for math are constant. Also, who gives a crap if you don't like the number 2? Does the world revolve around you? Maybe you're the center of the universe and everything was built around you. Everything moves as you do. Everything changes as you see fit. That's sounds pretty goddamn stupid, right? That's why 1+1=2. |
All conflict ultimately leads to the next.

Just a thought I had about why the west is not on such good terms with the middle east. You never know..............let the wild conspiracy theories begin. |
Jesus was a woman in drag.
Underneath that white robe was a skimpy outfit and a pink thong. |

My dad told me that when he was in college he had a teacher that proved to him that 1+1=3

What the hell?
I always kill arguments... and not with stupidity. |
Here's how 1+1 can equal 3.
Old scriptures have been uncovered that prove that the math and number system we use now is a fake, the real one has been hidden for all these years. This is how we really should count: 1 3 2 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 13 12 14 15 etc.. lawlorz |
What the hell?

Right, I need to head off to bed.
Have a good one all. Cheers. |
I had one goal for my school year; not get anything lower than an A on Spanish.
So, after getting a 90 on my first semester, I start the other with a whopping 63% D. If we only have four other grades for the semester, I need atleast one 100% A and nothing else lower than a 95%. Oh god. |

Jesus was actually a macaroni picture, not a person at all.
If that's the case, I ate Jesus for lunch. |
Actually the conventional number 1 and 2 are just symbols that represent the numbers one and two. So therefore 1+1 can equal 3, but one + one can not.
If I recall that correctly, google it. lowsound |

Didn't we all? ;) |
If that's the case, I ate Jesus for lunch.
Great... you ate the savior. |
But 3 is a symbol for three, not two. So no.
But if they are just symbols representing numbers, then they can represent either one or two. So it could be 1(representing the number one)+1(representing the number two)=3. lowsound |

Yessir. A bit of pepper and he was fit for consumption. |

lowsound
Ugh... What gives you the right to change what these symbols mean. Symbols get their meanings when they are widely used and recognized. From now on I'll wear a big swastika that symbolizes my love for computers. |

I didn't come up with it, a friend of mine studying math showed it to me and he got it from his professor. I think that the whole point of it was to question what you have always been taught. lowsound |
