Hmm...reccomend any Black Sabbith? (I'm such a dork when it comes to bands) I've heard Ozzy and maybe a few Sabbath songs, but I'm not 100% sure on which ones *in your guys opinion* are the best.
Any of there first 4 albums

Self Titled
Paranoid
Master of Reality
Black Sabbath Vol.4

All are incredible, and the true roots of heavy metal.

If u like those get Techincal Ecstasy and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

I'd go with their S/T, and Paranoid.

OK, I'm going to get a new Cd soon. What should I get, out of these?:

Testament-The Legacy
Testament-The New Order
Megadeth-Countdown To Extinction
Opeth-Still Life
Death-Human
???
Thanks

Deth 04-03-2005 03:58 PM

Opeth. Trust me on this.

Nathanbot 04-03-2005 04:01 PM
Opeth. Trust me on this.
In my opinon, get the albums in this order:

Self titled
Vol.4
Never Say Die!
Master of Reality
Sabotage
Technical Ecstasy
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Paranoid

If you want any Black Sabbath without Ozzy on vocals then I recommend:

Live Evil (Dio)
Heaven and Hell (Dio)
TYR (Tony Martin)

Why're you posting this here?
Also, there is only an official slipknot thread.
Korn do not have one and do not make one
You can find a link to all of the official threads in the rules thread, which I suggest you read very thourougly.

3rdplanet 04-03-2005 07:08 PM

I have a song called Fischer's Gambit from LimeWire and it is great, and wondered if I could get any more.

Bartender 04-03-2005 07:13 PM

Ok, I just discovered this thread in the most ironic way ever. Creating a thread asking for good music by Symphony X, I commented on how all threads are being simplified with "official ___ thread" etc. First post, "Official Reccommendation Thread". That was sorta funny for me, the most I thought was that there might be some official symphony X thread floating around or a thread already discussing which songs of theirs is good.

But regardless, does anyone know any good Symphony X songs to the effect of Candlelight Fantasia, Sea of Lies and Smoke and Mirrors etc. Thanks

Huber 04-03-2005 10:47 PM

Of Sins and Shadows, Eye of Medusa...that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I haven't given Symphony X a spin in awhile.

FlyingPaul_83 04-03-2005 10:49 PM

Inferno (unleash the fire)

oh and egypt

Jom 04-03-2005 10:51 PM

They're being simplified because it's irritating to see five threads asking about the same band. They were created for a reason... and if you call your own idiocy ironic, then that's fine. The search function works for a reason. Use it next time. Besides, Symphony X don't get discussed enough to warrant an official thread.

As for your question, V: The New Mythology Suite is a worthwhile album.

Fhaze 04-03-2005 11:42 PM

hey guys I searched this already and expected some results but didnt get any... please no flames. but could someone recomend some black label society?

Evolution is a great song, one of my favourites by Symphony X and is probably one of their heaviest. Excluding the songs you Mentioned, some songs to check out are :-
>Fallen(from V, as Anti-Hero said, really worthwhile and IMO an amazing album.)
>Masquerade (Very baroque intro, which is really quite funny at first.)
>The Odyssey(a 24 minute epic, not far removed from the Stylings of DT's Change of Seasons)

If you need much else, feel free to IM me.

All of their albums are great, but for starters check out 1919 Eternal and/or Blessed Hellride.
