Speaking of the RAH performance you can see many songs from it live in the concert section of On Demand.
That's my new background on my computer now
I just made it The Who's bio pic at sputnik, too.

/goes back to listening to the RAH gig. Acoustic Drowned. Good stuff...

PremierManiac 05-03-2006 09:37 PM

My parents said as soon as the Who tour dates are released they will pay for half of my ticket in the closest city. Can't wait, I hope I get tickets.

pigonthewing82 05-03-2006 09:46 PM

My only fear of seeing the Who is my expectations of their show will be so high I'm not sure with only two members left they will meet it.

PremierManiac 05-03-2006 09:49 PM

I'm confident that they will perform at a high level and meet my expectations. This particular reincarnation of the Who has been playing together for quite some time.

Yeah I know well I just saw the Kids Are Alright and so the Who are like the god of live bands in my mind right now. I mean I always knew they were an amazing live band but now that I've actually seen how they play I'm just so blown away.

JohnXDoesn't 05-03-2006 10:14 PM

Yes, they are playing quite well together. Pino has settled in on bass, and Simon Townshend makes an excellent addition, as well. Plus Pete is excited about having some new tunes to play, and that is a plus. Hopefully they will re-work the setlist they have been sticking to for the last couple of tours as well.

I saw a performance from a late '94 gig they did in Japan on Towser TV at Pete's website, and they were excellent. The Japanese really went nuts for them and the band looked clearly pleased and a bit surprised by the reception. And they played like it, too.

The Who are not capable of putting on a bad show. You will not be let down.

:p Those were just the right words to throw out any quistion that the show might not meet my expectations.

JohnXDoesn't 05-03-2006 11:55 PM

Hey guys. I have a 15 song sampler of The Who At Royal Albert Hall linked up and ready to go. Would of been longer, but I have a 100mb upload limit. Jeff, robo, and Tusk are already taken care of, as I had clear contact info for them. If anyone else wants it leave me your email in this thread and I will send you the link.

Would have liked to see some See Me Feel Me/Listening to You action though, as it is my favorite song, but its free, so who am I to complain?

Lunch 05-04-2006 01:55 PM

You know John, always trying to put Tommy down.

robo2448 05-04-2006 01:59 PM

Thanks John, downloading now.

I love having that pic as my background. It's nice to log on and see Pete sliding across the stage.

Lunch 05-04-2006 02:05 PM

I usually rotate between the Who and Scarface.

Right now it's http://pubpages.unh.edu/~ismith/Scarface.jpg

Here's my current desktop

I got a bunch of screenshots off of TKAA DVD, so I have like 4 pics of 'the slide'. Heh.

wanderer 05-04-2006 03:18 PM

Pino is amazing bass players.. however with The Who his complete s*** and should not be on stage with them. For one, doesn't have balls to say anything anything about his sound situation, a person who supposedly is the definition of
professianal player but then again that's exactly the problem.

By the way, Pete played Let My Love Open The Door and Barefootin (with Chris from the Squeeze and his band) 'In the attic' show. It was great to watch...

JohnXDoesn't 05-04-2006 04:48 PM

^I saw that. And I believe it's still running for those who might want to catch it.

And give Pino a break, would you. He has big shoes to fill. So far as his sound, I'm not sure what you are talking about except for the volume he plays at. Which is lower then John's. But that is to be expected, I would think...

Seafroggys 05-04-2006 05:14 PM

The Albert Hall gig is awesome. My only frown is John's voice, which seemed pretty weak on My Wife.

I just got done listening to Who Are You, next song's next, heh.

zabbit82 05-04-2006 07:54 PM

So as soon as I got home from school, I popped in a tape my dad has of The Kids Are Alright, and went to Won't Get Fooled Again. It's been a long time since I've seen it so it almost escaped my memory. All I have to say about that climatic ending:

robo2448 05-05-2006 12:11 PM

My Generation off of LaL is so good it should be illegal. I love driving around blasting that like I did today. I get so many weird looks from old people. It's hilarious. It makes me feel like such a rebel.

rockinbass17 05-05-2006 11:03 PM

If I were to give rebellion a soundrack, LaL would contribute several tracks, mores so than any other album. My Generation, Summertime Blues, Young Man Blues, etc.

Riva 05-05-2006 11:22 PM

I'm glad to say that I have done that too. The best song to play is Won't Get Fooled Again (the studio version) and pulling up at the stoplights when they have the build up to the final "Yeah". Once or twice the green light has turned at the same time as Roger's voice coming in. Awesomeness ensues.

JohnXDoesn't 05-06-2006 03:21 AM

lmao at Riva. There was a time when I believe he was sane....that avatar has got to be the best ever....

Anyway, other then 'froggys, who is enjoying the Royal Albert Hall sampler I sent out to a few of you? Anybody have any thoughts?

JohnXDoesn't 05-08-2006 10:19 AM

Man, two days with no posts. C'mon guys, talk about something. Like The Who.

I'll be putting a review of It's Hard :upset: up at sputnik in a bit, so be on the lookout. Go on over and trash our favorite band. :)

Lunch 05-08-2006 10:57 AM

I'll trash them. Too bad Eminence Front couldn't be on a better album.

Slip Kid off of By Numbers.
Hey.. High Numbers.. By Numbers. I just realized that.

JohnXDoesn't 05-08-2006 05:36 PM

Yeah. It's up now. That was fun.

:smash: ----Me
:upset: ----The Who, lmfao....

Riva 05-08-2006 05:48 PM

One day you'll release an album, John, and Pete will post nasty things about you too!

One day!

JohnXDoesn't 05-08-2006 06:06 PM

Yes, 'tis has been a far off dream of mine for many a year now. I'd wipe the floor with that old geezer. :p
