I made a shirt and I put some songs on the front of it in black and red and on the back i put The Clash in Black. I dont no what else to put on the back, i was thinking of putting their names on there in red. does anyone have any ideas and do u think putting there last names on the back would look good.
dont write their names, youll just look like a 12 years old girl at a simple plan show with their names writing on her shirt...if you see what i mean.the difference is that youll never go to a clash show. |
oh yes... hilarious
Yea, I think I would give up just about anything to see the Clash play live. |
Yea, I think I would give up just about anything to see the Clash play live.
i dont know.i wouldnt want them to compromise their beliefs for me, even if joe was still alive.the fact that they wont play together anymore is a part of the legend of the clash.i dont want them to destroy the myth...i like it that way... |
I meant if I got to see the Clash in the 70's or 80's. I don't think they ever wouldv'e played again when Joe was alive.
|

whats your favorite clash lyrics?
or did i already ask it.i dont remember. |
Hmmm... I think my favorite lyrics are...
"In every dingy basement/ on every dingy street/ in every dragging handclap over every dragging beat./Its just the beat of time/the beat that must go on/if you've been tryin' for years we've already heard your song" or "When they kick at your front door, how you gonna come?/with your hands on your head or on the trigger of your gun?" |
or...
"You have the right/ to free speech/ as long as you're not dumb enough to actually try it." |
i love the lyrics to white riot, "all the power's in the hands of people rich enough to buy it" and i also love the lyrics to guns of brixton.

Good point, do you have any ideas of what I could put on there.
You stole my name! lol Jimmy jazz is a fuorking great song , lyrics are great and its got a nice jazz feel to it , feels like you are sitting in a club! :thumb: Joe Strummer is a F>*king legend. Strummer was one of the ultimate performers of our time , his lyrics are briliant and always make you think and always gives multiple interpretation to the songs , he is one ofthe most innovative artists. Sandanista! is a great album to show you how diversethe clash were , the clash is the ultimate punk record , give em enough rope is pretty good combat rock has some great tunes , and london calling is a masterpiece of rock and roll and music in general. The mescaleros were a original and fresh sounding band with joe's great songwriting You cant forget Mick Jones either as he wrote some of the good songs like Stay Free and "lost in the supermarket" after the clash mick then went on to do B.A.D and produce the libertines which is pretty cool I reckon. Joe was the Punk and master lyricist , who could write deep and great lyrics , Mick was a Great musician who could turn joe's energy into a catchy form , and bring his own great stuff to the table. You gotta remember strummer only sang half of the songs really , he and mick were a pair. Both are absolute legends. |

Today in computer we got assigned our next 6 weeks project, and i have to do a powerpoint presentation that's at least 10 slides long. My topic is: The Clash. I know I should put in obvious things, such as band members and discography and bio, but are there any important or special things that you guys think i should put in?
|
their huge, huge influence.
they were pretty much the first band who mixed up different genres |
