Hey, Aes, been following the latest saga of Frank Pagini (a promising year)?

Its just so incomprehensibly cringeworthy. Why is he still here?
I saw the thread. Had a quick glance. That's about as far as i got.
I know what it's about tho.

denboy 08-30-2005 05:04 AM

It's about a 16 year old with a messed up life who thinks he's got it all covered and is getting married

Aes820 08-30-2005 05:11 AM

Heh. I just gave the Guitar Equipment Reviews forum a clean out. Closed and/or deleted 15 threads on the first page.

Maybe in your soul, Harry.

Just to to the pit and have a lookin eggos "the Frank Pagini chronicles" thread.

airborne50caliber 08-30-2005 12:02 PM

Guys, have you ever heard an interference noise that sounds like a crackle, like static electricity, one that is not there all the time and is very faint in the background?

It's very strange because I can hear this nowhere in the system during recording, but it is present in the mic track during playback of recorded material. (It is actually in the mic track, It's not the playback drivers).

It's probably some sort of grounding problem, isn't it?

Aes820 09-01-2005 07:29 AM

A mate of mine just got this new JBL crossover / processor for his PA.
I was just down at the venue that we'll be playing at on the weekend testing it out.
He's running a Triamped setup now. And it's a very good setup in there.
We cranked it up untill the 1600 watt sub poweramps started to chirp.
It was intense.

Yeah. As I found out just now; we're playing more gigs, one on Friday night and one of Saturday night. It's going to be a busy weekend, I think.

Gidday again KKKKK, are you sticking around for long or will you be back off on the road again soon?

Just looked at that. Wtf is that.

Wow, I just saw my chemical romance. They were amazing, but their sound engineer needs changing.

We'll be playing on the same days as you guys, good luck.
We've shooting a DVD tommorrow night on what will probably be the most elegant and pampered stage for quite a while.*

*5KW P.A.
Air Conditioned Stage.

And.....well that's it. The fact that it's air conditioned is amazing enough.
Although oddly you'd expect this to be a really big fancy venue, when really it's just a small obscure pub that takes alot of care to it's music.
Wheras we've played, 'the biggest metal venue in the north' (you win a prize for guessing the venue). Where you found your stage was mostly covered in blood and sick, alongside the monitors and almost every poster outside the venue. But oh well. It's all good. (I added to the stages sick by the way, and in true performance style, I pulled it off mid song without anyone noticing, I'm so smooth)

Then on saturday we're playing the debut of 'West Fest' a local all dayer. Which has been set up really professionally considering the fact it's free entry and a guy set it up in about 4 months.
A real stage, no lots of wood boxes.
A good P.A. company.
An entertainment licence. (500 people are expected)
Merch stalls.
Plenty of promotion.
A big field.
Photography.
First Aid tents.

Now we just have to hope it doesn't rain :p
Which is a big wish seen as last night it went from a blue sky to a yellow one and we had a massive thunderstorm for about 30 minutes. Before returning to clear skies.

I should be back more longterm now. In jan I should be spending about 3000 on studio gear and getting accustomed to it so I never have to step into a studio again. I HATE studios, so much. :)
It's the entire stress of sitting there knowing you have to work as fast as you can.
Hopefully my own set up will put ant end to that, and give me alot more time to play with mixes.

http://photobucket.com/albums/a381/bandagethesehearts/
There's a couple of fan pics* and some pictures from the above mentioned blood and sick venue.
Prizes for guessing which one I am!

*If anyone from the MXuk thread is here, I haven't uploaded the topless ones of the large breasted girl with just a teency** banner over her breasts reading, 'Bandage These Hearts Groupie'. I did however include her crayon picture, which is just as good :p

*It's REALLY small

So how is everyones bands going?

KKKKKocaine 09-01-2005 04:23 PM

Oh and just to save face. The Line 6 amp you see in picture 10, where I've obviously taken too much interest in the mic lead. Isn't ours, ours is a larger carlsbro stack to the side. That when combined with the bass stack, makes a very comfortable bed when you're outside the venues loading doors an hour early in a car park.

Aes820 09-01-2005 04:41 PM

I was eating brekky when I read about that bit about the vomit and blood on the stage near the foldbacks. That's gross.
Our bassist has a Carlsbro amp. I don't know about their guitar amps tho.

Ours is red.
Which is about as much detail as I can delve into really. But red is a nice colour.

Yeah I'd been to the venue once before to see Killswitch Engage with the 36 crazyfists and I hadn't really paid any attention to the state half of it was in.
We spent quite some time debating how crap the area was and that the reason people had tried to run over the bassist was because he was ginger and tall.

Aes! I heard in Austrailia or however tis spelt! You have christmas during the summer?

Yeah. That's true.
Christmas lunches often involve a BBQ and a cold salad.
Then on Boxing day it's down to the beach.

I'm looking forward to summer.

airborne50caliber 09-03-2005 01:10 AM

That's crazy stuff. Summer's cold here as well, not because the seasons are flipped around, but because I live in holland. I was planning to go to the beach but instead its cold, foggy, and might soon rain :o

:( Deprived of summer, the pain.

Man, poor Alive, asking me to write something up on goal setting. I've just started and I'm already up to a page .

Is that okay?

Ugh. Not really.
Which code?

I like my Rugby.

And I'll watch Leage and AFL if there's a few beers to be had along with it.
Like during finals, or if I'm out watching it with a few mates.
I don't really follow a team tho. I watch it for the social enjoyment.

Thanks for your effort in the Guitar froum as well.
Especially in the Beginner forums, I have noticed.
Tell Dylan that I'll give him some + rep for that article when I am able to again.
As I've ran out at the moment.
I've been handing out plenty of -rep. heh.

moaner 09-05-2005 05:45 AM

But you can't bear to watch the ashes this year, amirite?

Yeah, I was talking about AFL, but yeah I get what you mean with the friends. I do follow a team, but I'm not like "OMG THOSE UMPIRES SUCK I HATE MYSELF BECAUSE MY TEAM LOST" kind of person, I just like to watch my team (St. Kilda, :p) win.

I'm not too much of a rugby person, I just never got exposed to it. My whole family are hard out AFL-lovers, so I've always been exposed to that.

Thanks for your compliments regarding my contribution in the guitar forum. It's good to know that people appreciate it, seeing as that is why I do it.

I'll be sure to tell Dylan straight away and thanks a bundle for your rep!

:)

Apart from the fact that it's kind of rough staying up till 3am for 4 nights in a row.
And watching cricket in the winter is, well, just not cricket.
My whole family are hard out AFL-lovers, so I've always been exposed to that.
Yeah. I figured that'll be the case. You are from Melbourne afterall, right?
