Josh 04-15-2005 04:00 AM

no, thats this summer though isn't it? i hope they do newcastle, or somewhere not too far away.

bassist-bmxer 04-15-2005 04:03 AM

they said it would be october/november i think.

Josh 04-15-2005 04:04 AM

ah, i will have money for a ticket by then :)

ashman 04-15-2005 04:05 AM
i like both as well.

ATTN: ashman: what did you think of those songs?
Yeah they were good, but it sounds like they try too hard to be a classic band...

the2stranger 04-15-2005 07:49 AM

hhm, the songs you got, are from the latest album. on that album they moved pretty far away from 'the 'classic '' sound.

try ad get your your hands on the Images & Words album. it's older material, but it's a classic

Josh 04-15-2005 07:54 AM

i've got that as well, but i couldn't be bothered to upload any more tracks last night. I&W is, IMO, both worse and better than ToT, because its more of a classic sound but i also like the heavier sound of ToT

the2stranger 04-15-2005 07:58 AM

I agree with you.

as for my favorites:

1) I&W
2) ToT
3) 6doit

can't be bothered to rate the others :p

Josh 04-15-2005 07:59 AM

lol, i only have I&W and ToT, i like them both as much as each other.

the2stranger 04-15-2005 08:05 AM

as you can see, I recommend you the 6doit cd next :)
I got it for a nice price 9 euros, pretty cheap, considering it's a double cd.

and I'm looking so forward to the new album.

is anyone going to the LaBrie show? he's giving a show in my area in 1,5 week, and evergrey is supporting him.

Josh 04-15-2005 08:09 AM

where do you live?
i might get 6 degrees of inner terbulence later, from amazon probably. is it a studio or live album?

ashman 04-15-2005 08:41 AM

I have Images and Words Demo...a lot of songs don't have vocals...it's ok I suppose, nothing to spectacular, but maybe it'll grow on me.

jpshortstuff 04-15-2005 08:57 AM

SDOIT is a studio album - and a great one at that

BradyEB 04-16-2005 11:47 PM

zinner zero 04-16-2005 11:58 PM

RiceMonster 04-17-2005 12:03 AM
has anyone ever dare to play a change of seasons(complete) with your band?
No way I don't have a full band yet, just two guitarist, and a bass player, but we aren't nearly at that level yet.

Octavarium's artwork. Its not fake. Here's the proof:
Of course, as always, I was hesitant to post this - but I decided I'd rather *us* unveil it than some underground website from Greece or Poland (like how Train Of Thought was unveiled)

Let me just say you are only getting a taste of what the artwork and layout has in store for you.
I worked very closely for several weeks with the great Hugh Syme and think the end result of the packaging is the best we've had for any of our albums in the past.

I already see so many of you being critical, and that's to be expected, but you know the old cliched expression: "Don't judge a book by it's cover...."
(although in this case, I personally dig it....)

Can't wait for you to hear what's inside of it!

I live in the netherlands.
and as some other guy stated it's a studio album.
and the 2nd disc, is sort of concept like, not really.
but it features one song, 42 min long
check it out :thumb:

Frozenmage 04-17-2005 11:45 AM

Wow nice cover...but what i want is to hear the new album :)

iceman3019 04-17-2005 11:52 PM

hope dream theater gets a little bit more progressive in their new album . . . don't get me wrong, train of thought was one hell of a progressive metal album, but it was more metal than it was progressive . . . just my 2 cents . . .

Lord Abortion 04-18-2005 02:55 AM

woah... nice cover

Apocalyptic Raids 04-18-2005 03:08 AM

that cover art looks great! I wonder what the album will be like....

the2stranger 04-18-2005 04:32 AM

wow, indeed amazing art.
the art on ToT was amzing too, are they still working with the same artist?

Otherside 04-18-2005 05:40 AM

I could make that cover :\

Still not too bad though.

I've never thought of DT as progressive. Just my two cents.

AClotM1 04-18-2005 09:42 AM

What about DEP? Anyone else excited to see those technical bastards? ^_^

You've got to be kidding me.
I've never thought of DT as progressive. Just my two cents.
how on earth would you like to classify dream theater, other than progressive?
you could start an argument wether they're prog rock or prog metal.

but prog, that's for sure.

i am the robots 04-18-2005 10:19 AM
You've got to be kidding me.
I get the disgusting feeling he wasn't.

/shakes head

bassist-bmxer 04-18-2005 10:53 AM
