No one happens to have the Instant Live, or any taping for that matter of the 7-16-05 show?

THE NEURONS (Ex Ray Charles arranger)

Hello. When Ray Charles passed, his arranger and I started a Jam/World Fusion/Groovehop thing. IImprovisation was the key, but we wanted to make it really movement oriented.[IMG]http://www.pauladams.org/images/FCoverNEURONS.jpg

Here is the link http://www.pauladams.org/theneurons.htm

There are a few tunes you can have if you want. All are up and running. I hope I get to meet many of you. Music is good

that is soooo wrong no ads goddammit

pauladams.org 09-05-2005 07:01 AM

Sorry

Sorry about the neurons thing. Just looking for ways to connect, and in music, there doesn't seem to be many ways to do this. Not many are really listening to music these days. The jam band guys are. They are interested in rhythm, meter, and just being interesting. So I wanted to introduce us. But, I was reticent.

Smooth Jazz is just not interesting. Pop has a few interesting folks but the masses have no desire to explore. It's just hard to introduce yourself when you are "left of center" so to speak. Not many venues

I appreciate the Jam Band thing because, these folks haven't falled prey the "the sasmeness" in much music today
I didn't know where to put this, but I figured you guys would know about because, hey, it's Mike Gordon.

Did any of you guys get his new cd with Leo Kottke. Is it any good? I'm still wondering whether I should get it or not.
GET IT NOW
GET IT NOW
YES SIR!!!

Also, I'm pretty sure you were the guy that uploaded something like 15 Phish albums in the YSI thread a week or two ago. If that was you, I am eternally grateful. My entire collection of Phish before now was bootlegs. Which is by no means bad, but they have some pretty good studio stuff too.

I used to have a problem with today's music, and sinc ethen I have come to first ignore it, and then accept it, and finally respect it for what it is. However I do not feel this way about Kenny G :D

I am uploading the first disc of the Allman Brothers Band at the Champlain Valley Expo, Essex Junction, VT (8/28/05) Featuring Trey Anastasio on Mountain Jam (Disc 3) I had to fill in all of the data by hand, so some of it might be funky, I don't know the names of some of the songs, but I will post the track listings with each disc

Disc 1

1) Pre-Show drumming, etc.
2) Back Where it all Begins
3) Ain't Wastin' Time No More
4) Statesboro Blues
5) I don't know the name, I just called it "That Slow One"
6) Soulshine

Disc I:

Walrus Gumboot 09-09-2005 07:11 PM

Disc 2:

1) Track 1
2) Melissa
3) Track 3
4) Midnight Rider
5) New song from Hittin' the Note

hxxp://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2BN2PROA56DOO06XBXYVIWULXF

Disc 3
1) Mountain Jam Featuring Trey Anastasio (Imagine a 45-or so year old man smoking a joint, ripping off his shirt, beating his chest and screaming with glee right behind me)
2) Everyone screaming for an encore (We were right next to the mic, I can kind of here my sister and I saying "Yay" like retards to make fun of the guy behind us)
3)One Way Out

It's most likely Derek. He usually handles the slide duties.

I know, I know, but I wanted to now, Warren sometimes takes it, and he just replicates what Duane would do, and I don't want to hear that anymore.

Jam2Me 09-10-2005 03:59 PM

Galactic
Medeski Martin & Wood
The Black Keys
..and maybe Leo Kottke & Mike Gordon

That's what I'll be seeing up until December. I think I'll like Galactic the best because I like the openers Lyrics Born. If the Black Keys get some good openers that would be my favorite.
Alright.. I'm looking for some Janis Joplin albums.. I know she isn't really "jam" but, she's defintely a hippy.

JPJ, you probably have some albums of hers.
Sadly, I don't :upset:

I've been meaning to get Cheap Thrills (actually Big Brother & The Holding Company, meh) or Pearl for awhile now, but I always pass it up for something else.
Burning Spear is awesome :thumb:
What's happening with Burning Spear? Are they playing a show or something?

For the record, I found that Umphrey's McGee album, which brings me to my next point: has anybody heard of them? They've been considered the heir's to Phish's jam-band throne.
