Since 2000 i don't think any. I think RHCP and Smashing Pumpkins and Incubus, maybe a couple others will be remembered that long, but Linkin Park and Korn aren't gonna get airplay in 40 years the way Zeppelin (ok 30 years) is.
|
I wish i lived in the 60's. It was all about the music then.
|
Sorry for my absence, i was accidently banned (i think).
I havent really heard much talk about the eagles. A great band- good songs include: Hotel California, Life in the fast lane and Heartache Tonight As for other classic rock lets go down under with Australian Crawl. If you haven't heard any of there songs, there worth checking out. Reccomended songs: Land Down Under and The Boys light up. Also check out Franz Ferninand (sp?). Not entirely Classic rock, but a catchy guitar riff (All goes to bring instrument orientated music into mainstream) Over and Out, dave |
i didn't read all the post but those i saw never mentioned queen! i don't know if you consider classic rock as in the type of music or as in the decade it was done...anyway queen are 100% rock and the best.....pink floyd is another great band!!! peace out & keep rockin'

^Queen was mentioned.
holy sh!t im obsessed with almost all classic rock its like all i listen to.....not to be closed-minded or anything but....in general they had a lot more talent and songwriting than many of the new bands of today....like nu-metal and rap and pop and emo....like none of that sh*t requires talent (well, to a certain extent it does) but nowhere near the amount that classic rock did... most classic rock has an awesome "feel" to the song too, like my fave band AC/DC, for example, most of their songs have kickass-sounding solos in them with a lot of feel in them and angus is a f***ing maniac on guitar!.....or van halen(gunna see them in toronto on july 3!!!!!)..... they made just bizarre songs....some of those solos r crazy! but like a lot of new songs dont even have solos in them! its not all about the solos, either. Like most classic rock songs have clever, catchy, powerful riffs in them that make you fall in love with the song.... if you listen to a new music radio station and hear like good charlotte or something like that....like.... there are exceptions, but most of them are almost completely talentless! .....this is all my opinion so plz dont like....freak out lol peace
It's called colons and semi colons! Use them and then I will read your post! |

im a punk but personally when im high i cant get into the fast grooves so i listen to classic rock like zeppelin, doors, stones, beatles, hendrix, and pink floyd. also i like old metal like judas priest and motley crue, otherwise classic rock is boring to me and i cant stand most of it anyways.
|

I'm not in FOT because i missed the day when it was made.
as for guitarists Clapton Hendrix Page Fripp (okay not really classic rock, but i really like him) Zappa Robby krieger was also good, not over the top or anything, he laid kind of low, but he had a very nice style. |
ya i get made fun of alot at school because I listen to Classic rock. There is like two other kids in my school who have the same musical tastes as I do. We are kinda the out casts but i don't care! I will continue to where my Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin Shirts! but ya Neil young is kind of underestimated because of his singing and some of his country-like songs but Neil young is more than that WAY MORE!! Like Mr. Soul, Cinnimon Girl, The Loner, Down by the river....

You want me to make you an avatar? If so name 4 bands, and perhaps your favorite albums by them. |
Mr. Soul
He wrote that in Buffalo Springfield...For the record... |
oh right, but still you get the point.
Hey have you guys heard any Chet Atkins? He is a GREAT fingerstyle guitarist. |
^Yeah, he's great. The world of rock needs some new good finger picking guitarists.
|
Neil young is a god of lyrics. The only lyrics I like better are Bob Dylan's and Pete Townshend's.
