that's the problem,man..i like both.
i'm not sure what i want or what the public wants at this time. it will have 13 songs..6 soft and 6 metal and one instrumental is what i think i'm going to go with. i'm trying to balance both styles. i don't know if that's a good idea though. |
Bad idea! Do 11 metals, 1 intrumental, and one or 2 softies. Don't make it like The New Order, with totally mind-blowing thrashers, but too many soft piss breaks.
|
you could do like a song with a slow start and gets thrashy about half way through like One
|
or i'll just wait until the record company whittles down the 15 metal,15 soft,2 instrumental list i plan to send them.
it's such a hard decision,man..cos i like both styles. |
my influences range from everything from radiohead, tori amos, coldplay, opeth to megadeth, pantera, kreator, metallica and slayer.
it's not a bridgeable gap. |
this thread should be stickied.

Theres a readme in there explaining it all. Thanks alot :thumb: Oh and a question for you guys: What do you like other than thrash? I like thrash, death, thrash, black, and a bit of grindcore on the side. And thrash. |
ill agree with ya dimebag, std and atl could never be topped by them, but they still are going strong after 20 odd years :)
|
i like THRASH, good old fashioned heavy metal, hard rock, some speed metal... but thrash owns all
|
Indeed. What does WTH stand for? I stink at figuring out albums from acronyms.
|
welcome to hell, i consider that a thrash album, but sum 1 else mite not ......

|
Bloody site! not been able to post for a while, plus loads of my ****ing posts have been deleted for some strange reason!
Anyway, I was going to post this the other day. Can you make a half decent Thrash band from dead members of bands? so far I have... Vocals - Paul Baloff (Exodus) Bass - Cliff Burton (Metallica) Drums - Gar Samuleson (Megadeth) I heard the Guitarist from Iron Angel is dead aswell, but I don't really like them! anyway I'm to lazy to research into it, but feel free to add anymore dead people to the list. Oh yeah and I listen to Thrash mainly but I can be seen listening to a lot of genres such as.....Power, Death, (old) Punk and of course all of the classic NWOBHM bands! :thumb: |
lol... where u live dimebag?
|
Oh! and another thing.....does anyone think Bobby Ellsworth (Overkill) and Paul Baloff (Exodus) sound the same?
|
welcome to hell, i consider that a thrash album, but sum 1 else mite not ......
I don't see how. WTH was the first official thrash album. And an absolute classic. |
its also seen as the grand daddy of black metal by alot of people i know........
|
WTH... by Venom right? Its thrash alright.
If Ellsworth sung on Hello From The Gutter, Baloff owns him. Hugely. |
i know wth is thrash, i also know that its seen as black metal as well,it laid the ground work for both........
|
Dammit, that reminded me. I forgot to have a venom pic in our Official Avatar! Aug! Tell me whether you guys think its important or not... since they were the first pure thrasher band, I think it's pretty **** important to have them!
|
yeah....plus the mandatory 'big 4' ........
|
although for me mybig for is
metallica, megadeth, anthrax and testament..... |
I am well aware about the venom/black metal connection but most doom metal bands sound like Black Sabbath - does that make Sabbath a doom metal band?
Venom created thrash - that black metal also came from thrash is irrelevant. NP 1000 days in Sodom |
****....i have the riff from iron man stuck in my head.......its hard to get out once its in
|
I find the riff from Iron Man one of the most boring and dull Sabbath ever wrote, yet everyone else loves it... oh well.
My big four would be Metallica, Megadeth, Testament and Slayer. For some reason, no matter how many chances I give them I cannot get into Kreator, I think it's the vocals that bug me, it seems a shame because the riffs are fantastic. |
