Uhmm, not at all. The most overrated crap in the genre.

They had 2 or 3 good songs, the rest is pretty mediocre at best.
None So Vile is not overrated.

RetiredAt21 03-15-2008 08:13 AM

I like None So Vile and that's pretty much it.

Mother 03-15-2008 12:30 PM

Im guessing you all heard the new crypotsy, I just heard that "bemoan the martyr" one and if its legit then.

 x 3141

naboo 03-15-2008 01:12 PM

Wow, that was shitty. At least Once Was Not was fairly interesting.

Question though... is Nile worth seeing live? For some reason I have a feeling it's just going to be so loud that it will sound like a jumbled mess. The setlist looks nice though. So yeah , is it worth it?

beans 03-15-2008 01:16 PM

the one time i saw them they did a pretty good job, although a lot of people i was with hated thier set for some reason
THOSE SONGS ARE NOT CRYPTOPSY
We'll have to post this once a page. There's no proof. People (morons) on metal archives are convinced they're real because "I KNOW SOMEONE WHO TALKED TO FLO AND HE SAID THEY ARE REAL". Ugh.

And EVEN IF THEY WERE REAL, NONE SO VILE CAME OUT IN 1996

If you're a fan you'll enjoy their set. They sound almost exactly the same live as they do on album with some of the solos played sloppier.

Although I saw them in a really small club and there was LOADS of crowd interaction, which really made the show, so if they do a show in a bigger club I don't know how it would turn out since small club shows are almost always more fun.

Tyler 03-15-2008 04:56 PM
with some of the solos played sloppier.
that's possible?

masscows 03-15-2008 05:03 PM
that's possible?
Apparently. Karl Sanders totally ****ed up the Cast Down the Heretic solo for a couple measures, but nailed the rest of it pretty cleanly. I think he was a little drunk...

I wouldn't know, but I wanted to go see that for Unexpect again. They put on a hell of a show. Shame they get stuck in shitty opening slots.

they were pretty crap when I saw them in '05. muddy and uninteresting.

Hrimthursum 03-15-2008 10:40 PM

Cryptopsy, save a couple songs from None So Vile, is fucking crap. New shit is going to suck even harder.

I have seen Nile twice, and they were enjoyable each time, but nevertheless I'm sure they have bad shows and there are certainly a lot of people who despise the band that are going to rant about how much they suck until the cows come home. regardless, go to a show and find out for yourself, instead of relying on others to form an opinion for you...because most of the time people on here are either going to overrate something or bash it to hell, with no happy medium. Especially with a show experience; two people can go to the same show and leave with completely different impressions.

Tyler 03-15-2008 10:51 PM

new Arghoslent rules so far

Hrimthursum 03-15-2008 10:52 PM

Haven't checked them out yet...been pretty busy lately. I'll have to throw it on my list of bands to check out.

There's a song off the new album there. The Genocider's vocals sound almost identical to the last guy.

Hrimthursum 03-15-2008 10:59 PM

Not bad. I'll have to listen again when I'm not drunk as **** but it sounds like some good, straightforward DM.

every song on blasphemy made flesh and none so vile is good

@tyler, this new arghoslent song sounds ill

RiceMonster 03-16-2008 01:40 AM

I'm not going to lie, I actually kinda like Nile's Annihilation of the Wicked, but In Their Darkened Shrines always goes in one ear and out the other. I haven't heard any of their other works though, and I don't think there's any reason to.

I remember back like two or three years ago, I think, when I used to listen to None So Vile nonstop. It's a good album.

i am the robots 03-16-2008 01:41 AM

I like Annihilation Of The Wicked as well, that album's pretty solid, if a bit boring at points.

It's so funny how this forum went from Nile fellatio to NILE IZ TEH SUCKS in like two years.

RiceMonster 03-16-2008 01:43 AM

Haha, yeah. I remember when Annihlation of the Wicked was coming out, and everyone was jacking off to Lashed to the Slave Stick, which was the first song they released.

Tyler 03-16-2008 01:46 AM

I tried to buy into the Nile hype and then I saw one of their videos on Much Loud a few years ago and I gave up then and there.

adb 03-16-2008 01:49 AM

never got into Nile.

The first two albums make ITDR sound amazing. Especially Black Seeds, that album flat out sucked. I never, ever liked that one.

repcak 03-16-2008 03:23 AM

omg, Nile Love ITT? cannot be

Since Ithiphallic i stopped listening to Nile tbqh. i don't care anymore about the band, though i have to admit, that their older stuff is still great!

If you don't like the ending of that song then you might as well go die

Yeah, Nile's good music is great

Yeah, I think I may just go. The thing I have a choice between them and Symphony X, whom I've already seen. It's a bitch to go to the shows because I have to take a boat then drive a bunch.

The only thing I'm worried about is that it's the Worcester Palladium which I believe is notorious for being ridiculously loud with pretty jumbled sound. I saw Symphony X and I sometimes had to fill in the songs myself because it was so distorted (though it was an amazing show). I just have a feeling Nile might sound retarded live at that place.

AOTW is one of the best death metal albums in my opinion. Their other stuff is pretty good but nothing comes close to that album.

masscows 03-16-2008 10:32 AM

Where are you from? Martha's Vineyard?

and The Palladium has good sound. I saw Amon Amarth there in December and there was nothing wrong with it. It might suck if you're in the back because it's under a balcony.

Niles music is alright. Its a cool concept, but they could do more with it

the2stranger 03-16-2008 01:03 PM

Tbqh, I never liked Nile.
Shitty production and the songwriting sucks too.
The Egyptian sounding parts are ok, but when they don't play that, they sound like a cheap bad death metal band (with horrible production on the earlier albums)
