It just seems dull and boring. I've gotten to where I am without any and I don't see any need for it in the future.

Sixpounder. I don't like this band that much. They make some really good songs, they makes some reallly ****ty songs.

Alexi blows as a writer and vocalist, they use too many keyboards, but the guitar solo's actually keep me slightly interested.

I hate the idea of teachers...
And besides, learning stuff is way more rewarding when you teach yourself.

Its going to be hella hard you to play metal up to par with out any knowledge of theory.
If you don't know the right techniques there is a good chance you can blow you shoulder, wrist or elbow out. you can also give you self a bursitis.

That's not entirely true.. I'd bet that 90% of band members out there know very little theory, if any at all. A studio musician is obviously a different story.

I want to know theory bad... I know it sounds nerdy, but I also want to be a studio musician... you know, making sick solo stuff... or be in a power metal (or death metal) band...

I'd like to be a studio musician as well. It's a musical profession that's pretty steady work, and I'm confident that in a couple years I'll be capable of handling it. It's more of a wet dream than a goal, but it's nice to think about once in a while.
